Opera buttons for Back and Forward with history not defaults
Well I finally got Opera 9.51 running in Vista Home Premium without crashing on Yahoo Mail
I like the "Rewind" button but I was really frustrated the Back button doesn't have a history dropdown in the default install (neither the Forward button)
I almost posted an "Opera for Dummies" question here when I decided to poke around
So under the menu Tools > Appearance > Buttons > Browser I found a button icon that had a drop-down arrow but no instructions on how to add it to the toolbar
Eventually I dragged it to the toolbar which worked
Finally I right-clicked on the Plain Jane Back and Forward buttons to remove them
Hope this helps somebody - I don't think I am the only person on the planet who didn't know how to place buttons on the Opera toolbar
I am annoyed by apps that make you figure things out - what would it take to add "drag these button icons to your toolbar"?

Was just trawling for old posts when I saw this one, if you click and hold the back (or forward) button a history will popup. I know: not very intuitive.
Personally I prefer the Firefox method of a unified back/forward drop-down, that shows you where you are.

You can get all kinds of Opera buttons here:

Any variation you would want practically!
You can also right-click on any toolbar and choose customize, then go to the buttons tab to get a selection of all the available buttons.
(I just learned that when you drag a bookmark from the bookmarks panel into a textarea it will insert the bookmark URL!)
