Opera 9.5 crashing on Yahoo Mail Beta on :( Vista
Just upgraded to Opera 9.5 using automatic msi installer from message in browser and offical Opera site. Saved installer with "Run" command and closed browser. Upgrade appeared to go smoothly.
Browser working fine but chokes and crashes on Yahoo Mail Beta
Anybody else having this problem?
(anybody else still using Vista?)
Tried Gmail which is fine but I believe a much thinner client.
So still running Ffox 2.0.0.14 - not ready for Ffox3 yet (still in beta for Windows?) and have Ubuntu but not all set up yet.
I have Safari/Windows which amazingly ports most of the problems on Mac to the Win version.
Also gotta little browser "Avant" I think pretty much like IE but smaller/faster.
BTW I tried out a couple of widgets for Opera - like "ruler" which will measure a horizontal size with some fidgeting (are you kidding? compared to the great Ffox MeasureIt?) and looked at the SimAquarium game which looks cool...

Have you reported this to Opera? Try asking on the Opera forums. When you encounter a site that doesn't work you should always use the "Report a Site Problem" function under the help menu.
I agree that sometimes the widgets aren't that great. You can get some custom buttons and toolbars to do more in Opera though. My favourite widgets are the unit converter and calcualtor.
Yahoo mail seems to be fine on Opera 9.5/Mac.

thanks for the heads up, Megan, but...
I installed the 9.51 Windows snapshot
And it still crashes on Yahoo Mail Beta (did not try Classic) I reported the bug to Opera
I also tried the Windows Classic and Windows tells me at the end I do not have permission to make the changes, even though I ran it as an administrator and I believe I have UAC off.
I rolled back to v 9.02
which took a bit of poking around on the Opera site (their archives are un coded bare directory views, reminds me of shareware sites from the mid 90s)
It appears noticeably slower than v 9.5 - but it swallows Yahoo Mail Beta without choking...
[LATER]
Well, Yahoo mail works but I cannot delete emails, not with the toolbar or with the delete key. Back to Firefox, jibbety job...
But I am fond of Opera
A few years ago I did not have an internet connection, also I think the computer died. My daughter had a Compaq portable - the kind that came in a suitcase, kind of pre-laptop. I think it had an 14kbs modem or something like that.
I downloaded Opera - 4? - to a floppy disc or maybe a couple of disks and installed it on the Compaq. It was the only browser with JavaScript support I could take away from the public computers at the library.
I developed Up Against the War using Opera locally on the Compaq and uploaded it at the public library.

Opera asked me to reinstall v 9.51 (in a separate directory) and generate a crashlog
I used the same installer I had downloaded above and also installed the crash logger inspectr.exe
Guess what? This time no crash, and I can delete emails too.
Go figger!
[later]
so now I deleted Opera 9.02 and renamed the Opera951 folder Opera and guess what, now it crashes on Yahoo Mail again! and inspectr.exe did not seem to generate a crash log (I did run it and set it to put the log on desktop)
[even later]
Then I renamed the "Opera" folder "Opera951" - the only change - and it didn't crash.
I renamed the folder "Opera" and it crashed again...
No crash logs were generated by inspctr.exe
I don' care wha' we call it jus' ahz long ahz it werx
