Zurl - Zurl Your URL
http://www.zurl.net

Hi everybody,

I have just released a brand new project which allows anyone to shorten long URLs found scattered around the web into something shorter. This is especially good for ebay and sites similar where the URL can get really long. You could also use this for your own site if you felt the URL was too long.

Any opinions would be great.

Thanks, I aimed to go simple as I wanted to make it as easy as possible to just type in a URL. I see you submitted your site to zurl Laughing out loud

Im loving the logo for sure.

But I'm not sure about the background. Not sure what else you could do though, theres alot of empty space to fill.

Well the site isnt about content really but its focus is the form to zurl URLs, I dont want to confuse visitors or distract them from the main point of the site.

NIce simple design. Try to shorten URLs by Name.ZURl.com not ZURL.com/name . cuz there r loads of other URL forwarding sites like freedomain.co.nr

Hi

The site looks good but I would tone down the blue background a little as it draws the eye away from the main body of the page.

A plain background would be better IMO.

Hi there,

Simple, easy to use.

One thing though, I don't think you need the Public Release statement as it just repeats the Welcome statement. Besides, you have an error in the text "If your uncertain..." should be "you're" or better "you are"

I kind of like the blue, goes with the crazy sounding site name.

Good luck,

Not bad, though if you want to have a chance of gaining some search engine listing positions I suggest that you add far more text content to your page. Cool

It's nice and simple, I like that. Also, anyone offering a free service on the web gets my vote!

I was actually thinking of making a bookmark button which will ZURL on the spot, similar to del.icio.us.

Just updated Zurl, you can now zurl on the spot if you drag the link from the new into your bookmarks area. Good on firefox if its placed on the zurl toolbar.

Apologies for the double post.

I like the site...i ran it through W3Cschool validation and you only had 2 errors for the home page...that is awesome...fix those and you could add the validated icon to your page...would look real good. Free service ...can't beat that. The stripes a bit dizzying for me but overall I give you an A+. Simple and to the point and does what it says it does...that nice too.
