Zilile.com
Hi all,
Please let me know what you really think about this website.. It is a music / entertainment website for Zambia (Central Africa). It not yet live and is still in the works but the basic concept is there. Let me know how I can improve on it before I make it go live.

Wow - it looks absolutely fantastic. Not much more to say!!
The colors are nice, the layout flows, and the navigation makes sense.
Excellent work.

Hey, thanks for doing some reviews first.
Overall you've got a great start here. The site is well layed out and organized. A few things do need improvement though. The first is the placement of the logo. At first I thought that big ad at the top belonged to the site, since many do have a graphic header/logo thing shaped just like that. I didn't see the logo on the right side until much later. I would move that logo to the left where people are more likely to see it and add some white space around it so it stands out more. It would be good if you could do something about that big advertisement too. At least make it the standard size so people can identify it as an ad.
The main content area has too many boxes. That part needs to be streamlined more. I think part of the problem is that all the boxes are styled so differently. If they were all the same it wouldn't look so cluttered. Add some white space around the ad there too so it becomes visually separate from the real content.
I like what you've done with the graphics on the site, especially the little icon navigation.

I didn't read previous post, so excuse me if I am a bit redundant.
Ok, overall impression was "professional, clean and well organized" this is great, because it kept my attention and got me to pry around a bit.
I'll split this review up...
Things I liked:
- The logo, the one at the top left and the one below it to the right, but you should only have one. It looks like inconsistancy of brand.
- Overall layout, I like the menu structure and the dotted seperators
- Top navigation icons, nice work =)
Things that "could" be improved
- I understand the importance of optimization, but your top main graphic is a little TOO optimized, it looks pixelated
- Like I mentioned above, you should choose one logo. Maybe make the top left one look more simple...
- Your very bottom navigation is difficult to read against that black
I hope this helps, I think you have the makings of a nice site, good luck!

The site has a nice vibrant feel to it and in general it does look very polished. However I totally agree with Megan that the top advert has to be moved, it overpowers the site too much and looks like the header to the site rather than an advert. The first thing on the page should be your logo/header.
Great work

Hey thanks all for the feedback... I will see what I can do about that top banner... maybe trash it.. but I am thinking if there is any ad location that would be desirable for anyone, that is it...my idea was not to have it stand out from the website but be part of it in some sense. I guess I didn't do a very good job of that. Anyway, let me get some creative juices flowing... thanks again

I really don't think it looks bad at the top, just the particular banner makes it appear to be your logo at first glance. Maybe if you move your site logo to the left and made it more pronounced, it would fix the problem. All in All, I still think this is an excellent site - even how it is.

wow. I like it a lot! The content and the whole idea behind the website is something that will hopefully bring in a whole mess of traffic for you. Good job on the design aspect of everything too; colors, navigation, structure...I think you have done an outstanding job.
Did you make the logo? Cause it really looks great
I had no idea there was an entertainment industry in Zambia :\ Now I do! good stuff dude.

One more spelling mistake: "Freatured Artists" ----> featured
Also, on this page:
http://www.zilile.com/label.php?ID=3
and pages where your content is shorter than your right column, the bottom of the right column sits right on top of the bottom of the page, whereas it has about 10 pixels on every other side. It just caught my attention. I am talking about the "Silile media group send the right message Vertical Banner 120x240 pixels" image in case I was unclear.
