I still need to hash out a front page and the printer friendly page template but the subsections are all there. Mainly a site for me to post code snippets, projects, links, and other stuff (mostly content versus eye-candy...that's my next project). Sticking out tongue

Enter through here: http://www.shrum.net/colophon

Firefox users will benefit from the tooltip underlining.
Users with rotatable flat panel screens (like me!) will benefit from the slim-lined content area.

As a bonus to those who visit, take a look at the desktops area! These pages can be set as your active desktop and they automatically update once every 12 hours...truely dynamic desktop wallpapers.

Feedback always welcome

TIA

Dont forget to review a few other sitess too! Shocked

I like the layout, its similar to mine, with a slightly narrower content body down the middle. The text was easy to read too, nice & traditional white on black. You do need a more significant identity though, the contents a little muddled and just diving in from the link youve posted, leaves users ( well me anyway... ) feeling a little confused. It took me a few minutes to realise what content you had on your site depsite you saying so in your post.

Its good though, Laughing out loud

It's a nice and clean site. Very professional. Only thing I suggest is to maybe have some kinda border or divider around each of content in order to distinguish them apart better.

Looks a lot better than previous attempts. I like the orange, it's really eye catching. I like the way the two horizontal bars at the top extend pas the main content border. That's a neat idea.

I think the /colophon part of the logo should be treated differently. Perhaps just grey as "shrum" is done. Oh, wait, that's not part of the logo, that's the page header! Put it down below the blue bar so it looks like a page header.

As always, I have problems with the labelling and terminology used on this site. Colophon is not a well known and highly used word. If you have to explain to people what it means you shouldn't be using it. Even the words used have ambiguous meanings. What are "fiiles"? Say "downloads" instead. "Code" may be better described as "scripts".

I also thiink that the subnavigation shyould be treated differently. A sidebar of some sort would be much more obvious than the current placement. On many pages I couldn't figure out where to go once I got into a section and had to figure out what do do next. All I saw was a page full of text I didn't want to read.

I have to say that I like white space - must be the print designer in me. The home page seems a bit cluttered - not too welcoming.

The little gray arrow after the logo makes me keep looking at my screen to see what is on it - like my screen is dirty. Maybe make that arrow darker.

The stuff that is in italics - that feels like it should be set a part a bit. Maybe in brackets. Maybe not going the full length of the page. Maybe both.

Otherwise I think it looks very good!

Nice colors, clean site, very professional.

Things are displayed very neatly and easy to read.

You could consider breaking the pages into two separate one's like About shrum.net and then one about sean shrum.

Very neat Smiling

I like your colors and layout. But´I would definetly put at least one picture somewhere. I can't decide is or isn't that page too long. Maybe not, but I suggest not to make it any longer. But overally good job!
