We're in the process of making some changes to our website. I'd like to get suggestions and comments while we do this process.

http://www.mlrehab.com

In about 3 months, I'll submit again with the changes.

All comments and suggestions are welcomed.

My two main questions are:
1. Does it look and feel outdated?
2. What do you think of green?

Just quickly-

- Doesn't feel outdated to me. Smiling Except for the curved menu, which doesn't look good when the page extends below it, making whitespace.
- The green is alright. I don't see anything wrong with it.
- The shadow on the "WELCOME" text is unnecessary and throws the heading off balance. I'd remove it. Smiling
- Use a larger font size for links in the main content area. The small links among larger text (like in http://www.mlrehab.com/skillednursing.html) doesn't fit.

It is not too dated. I never like having to enter a site. I guess that it feels like I am being herded somewhere. The green is okay but I am not too crazy about the yellow. I am not sure why two of the nav links Job Opportunities and Career load a totally different and unexpected style.

Overall I think that it is decently designed but a little boring. Not your fault on the boring part, just hard to get too excited about Home Health.

I really agree with what both Abhi & Mark have said. I don't see the need for the splash/enter page and the greens are fine (you've done a good job with getting different shades to match!). Personally I would just work on sorting out the curved side bit so that it didn't look so odd when the content is longer than the side nav part.

I particularly don't see what should be improved. The site is very much suitable for what it stands for.
Its very easy to navigate around and i find it very professional

Does it look outdated? Depends what you're comparing it too. If you compare it to the majority of sites out there, it's not outdated at all. If you compare it to what the more leading edge designers are doing then yes, it is outdated. Take a look at zeldman.com and sites posted there as examples of valid CSS/xHTML design for a comparison. You'll get loads of ideas from there.

If you want to do a redesign by all means go for it! I would be inclined to change the lighter green and yellow accent colours. That looks kind of washed out. The base green could stay though. I'm not a big fan of green though personally so I'm probably not the one to ask.

Thank you all for your remarks. (Additional comments are always welcomed.)

I'm not quite sure how I'll improve the menu bar yet, but I'll work on that. I'll also improve my links...making them stand out more and I will remove the title "shadow." At first those were gifs, but I quickly decided that the search engines would have a more difficult time indexing the pages.

I am going to currently work on combining the spalsh page and maybe the home page together. I'd like to have the menu links on this page as well. I also think it will be beneficial for the search engines.

If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve our search ranks...please comment. With the type of business we do, we must be "local." If someone from New York searched for "physical therapy," we wouldn't be much service to them for we are only in the western states. Therefore, do I use the words, "physical therapy utah" as a meta tag? Must I be more specific?

We've been exposed to search engines only a little, but starting to dig a little deeper.

Thanks!

Princess4ubabe,

I visited your website. I like the layout; it was very easy to navigate and you could tell up front what the point of the site was.
