I was wondering if you guys could help me review my new idea and website IsOur.biz. IsOur.biz offers free redirection services. I have just finished integration of a domain auction and forum as well as a link directory. Looking for ways to improve site layout, usability and if possible looking to see if my sites works on other browsers firefox.

Thanks in advance,
Andew

I don't get it...why do you have a home page that uses frames and a secondary page for browsers that don't support frames that renders exactly the same.....I hate frames Mad

You should check the bottom of the pages....totally out of shape in Opera and Firefox.

That being said I like it.

There are no stupid questions, only stupid people!

Syawilim THE only way the redirect will work is to use frames. If there are no frames the redirect will not work. Thanks for the input on Opera and Firefox, I will have to check that out for I don't have Opera and Firefox on this computer. (I really wish that I could avoid the frames for search engine purposes but then everything won't work on my website, all the redirects will not work)

Hi, Andy! Welcome to TWF Smiling Thanks a lot for reviewing some other sites first, we appreciate it.

This is a pretty nice design. You've got all the required elements and the page fits together nicely (except for the aforementioned gap at the bottom in Opera & Moz.) I also like your choice of colours. Green is a less common colour so it will help to distinguish your site. I do feel, though, that the yellow has been used a little haphazardly. My eye is drawn to the domain name search at the bottom - was that intentional?

For some reason I am finding that everything seems a little small to me. I don't know if my eyes are off today or what. There is a whole lot of stuff here and I'm having a hard time focusing.

One thing I really dislike about this design is the gradient outer background. That's just plain ugly (sorry Smiling). Try a plain light grey or maybe a small low contrast pattern like little dots or something.

Upon further examination, I'm noticing your use of photos is a little inconsistent. You've done a good job in placing them - sometimes people have problems with this when they try to put too many attention grabbing photos around the page. You've got the one main photo of the woman in the middle and that pulls the attnention in that way. With the others being full photos and not objects they can fade out better. The inconsistency comes in the treatment of those other photos - two on the right are tinted but the other two are full colour.

I also wanted to comment on the icons and logo at th etop. They are okay but don't pull the attention as much as they could. Try adding some colour or more ocntrast to the icons. Also try lightening up the background behind the logo so it stands out more. I do like the use of white space around the logo. That's something you see a lot on the big corporate sites - the logo is very small in size but the large amount of white space around it makes it stand out.

Overall I fell you've done a great job with the site. These suggestions could just make it even better!

Hi Megan,

Thanks for the suggestions. I changed the color of all the pictures to make them consistent. As for the background I think I probably am going to leave it as it is because on a 800 X 600 screen it is not that noticeable. As for the logo I am going to have a professional vector artist work on re-doing that. I will switch the yellow header to draw attention to the forum instead of the whois search.

Again thanks for the comments,
Andrew

Hi Syawilim the website I run offers redirects like if you have a long url http:/blablablabla.com/12345/ etc. you can make it short. For this to work my site uses frames and a database to store the redirects (long urls). Anyway it's really complicated and I wish I could avoid frames but if I did my service would not work.

Thanks for the comment wwwben
