Would like feedback (Montreal Shopping Mall.com)
Hello, I am new here and I am new to web design as well. My background is in graphic arts/design, but I have been approached by some of my clients in the Montreal area to try and provide a site for them in which they can afford to sell there products on line... so I gave it a shot, and I would really appreciate some feedback from professionals like yourselves on this new site.
Thanking you in advance,
Paul

Hey, Paul. There's a lot of things I like about your site. First off, it's very clean looking. Not too cluttered overall. I also think you have picked a nice, simple color scheme that seems to be working pretty well.
That said, I do, of course, have a few suggestions.
First off, I would make your credit card/PayPal logos quite a bit smaller. They're pushing everything too far down on the page, both on the front page and the inside pages.
There's too much white space between your top logo and the rest of the page. Eliminate most of that so that more of the content is visible without scrolling down.
In addition to having the Flash Navigational elements, you should put text navigation. That way the search engines will pick up on your additional sections.
In the Categories page, there's way too much scrolling involved. At the least, I would make two columns for those images. I like the idea of the images, but it's even more to your advantage for someone viewing the page to be able to see all the Categories without having to scroll at all. If there's any way to keep that images and get it all visible with minimal scrolling, I would do that.
Once you actually get into a category, I would definitely make it 2-3 columns. The first category I looked at was Apparel and Fashion, and there's no reason I shouldn't be able to see all 3 of those stores without scrolling.
Also, once I was in the Apparel and Fashion section, it didn't actually say "Apparel and Fashion" anywhere. It definitely should.
In the actual individual stores, there's the same problem where the list with smaller pictures should also be set up in columns.
Hope that helps, Paul. You've really done a great job so far, and just changing a few things should bring it up to par.
Tim

I think your site is very professional. It is very welcoming and uses nice friendly colours.
The main logo is too big considering you see it on every page, although it does look good so just make it a bit smaller.
The categories page also has too big logos, i would probably take the text away next to the pics and just shrink the images a bit.
Apart from that the site looks great!
