WinWeb - Control Panel and Site advise
I know the site is plain but that is what we wanted to do. PCISD.com is not simple and I think info gets lost in the shuffle.
What do you guys/gals think of the site for winweb and what do you think about winweb itself?

The images seem like they don't work.. A web site can't be too busy, but can't be too simple either. You should change from the default font, maybe add some colored tables for the nav bar, etc.

- Don't like the logo - it's unprofessional, and really has a feeling of "let's try as many effects as we can" to it.
- Do not use any VML or related not-well-supported software.
- It is not a good idea for a professional web company to create their web pages using MS Word 2000. One reason for this is that Microsoft products have a tendency of not liking Netscape. The other is that users expect you to at least know HTML.
As to WinWeb in general, I honestly think that a web-based interface just makes more sense. People are not going to want to download new versions of your software all the time. Also, you'll run into many issues with the software not working properly, etc. (does it have full proxy/firewall support?). Finally, what will you do for users who don't run Windows?

I do not like http://winweb.pcisd.com basically because it does not work. All the images are broken, I am using Netscape so I do not know if it works in Internet Explorer. As to the idea of a non web-based control panel, well it depends on the download size, if it is a big file I don't think it will be that great, the smaller the better, not too small though. They only way I think it would catch on is if it offers tons more features than normal control panels and is very easy to use. Maybe something like freewebspace providers do a box to edit files or create new ones, not just a control panel to add subdomains, email and etc. That is my opinion, I hope that it catches on though.

1. LOGO - the company logo is misleading. When I first looked at it I thought it read "W IN WEB"
2. FEATURES - where you have listed your features, I think they would look much neater if they were put into a list eg. using <dl> & <dt> tags.
3. You need to describe the product a little more on your index page. From this page it is hard to determine what your product is.

Though the site looks good I do not feel that the graphics 'fit' with the item you are selling - I'm not sure why but it struck me instantly that this site does not have a proffesional feel to it.
Does anyone else think this?
Otherwise it loads well and is easy to navigate.
PS - I was also ask to download some add on

None of the images loaded for me either in netscape so i can't really comment on them .
I'm not so sure if I would use such a long string of "centered" features, maybe bulleted and aligned to the left or right.
You could probably adjust the layout a little bit and fit more of that first page content into a smaller area.
take care,
Carolyn

The images don't work in netscape because you specify <img src="images\ww.gif"> when it should be <img src="images/ww.gif"> (no backslash, just a forward one)

What interested me is that winweb.pcisd.com is using Mircosoft Softwares that you can see in the HTML file. Plus all of thier images was broken and before I did saw the images but maybe they remove so they don't want you to see them. Who knows? However, it's unprofessional to me and not a real software. I will never see a off web based control panel. 90% of ISP use online control panel.
