Took a look at your site, good ideas, nice information, just very difficult on the eyes. Might I suggest changing you color scheme so user don't have to strain so much to see the text. The text needs to be in sharper contrast to the background, perhaps using the crisp white you have on the links for the text and change the header color to a different color, red or green.

Well the design isnt keeping anyone from visiting your site. Have you used a search engine submission program? It takes 3/4 weeks for your site to appear in most search engines. As far as the design:

1) use valign=top to align everything at the top of the cell

2) some more color?

3) you need to have a few features which other webmaster sites DONT have

what color scheme do you reccommend for this site then?
What sort of things should i offer that other sites dont have? would i have the same effect if i added alot more services that other sites have?

The design has nothing to do with the amount of people who visit your site. You need to have effective advertising strategies and get listed higher then sites competing with you in search engines.

Ok, this is how you should promote your site. It may take a while but go to http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/WWW/Authoring/Directories/ and add your website to every directory possible. Thats the free way, if youre willing to spend a bit go to goto.com and bid for keywords. Goto.Com has done wonders for my site.

ClickThru Network http://www.clickthru.net/ is very effective in driving initial traffic to a new website. I suggest you give it a try.

Hey there OK,

Search engines can take weeks to index your site, hang in there it'll happen Smiling
I would take the time to post your link in the directories one at a time like web avail suggested, my personal experience is that one permanant link is worth more then 1000 garbage (Free 4 all) links and worth the time.
AND SPEAKING OF GARBAGE --- Refmaker, Please don't post a referral link in this forum, I checked it out and it may benifit some people but the service from what I can see is basically a "paid to" service, which "reaks" excuse the terminology of "GET RICH QUICK" ie... people click on the links and have to vote on a site etc... then they get to have their site looked at in return, this may be helpful for people who have the time and may help doubleOK if he chooses, but since posting your link without as much as an explanation of what this service really is I'd have to say that this looks like another spamish post and should be ignored Smiling, -- sorry, guess I'm in a mood today Smiling.

take care,

Hey Carolyn! Your back! Anyway, I agree- you shouldnt post links that have referall stuff. If you do, at least post the regular link also.

no problem, maybe I should apologise for being so harsh Smiling. a lot of new people in here seize the opportunity and that's understandable. I would guess that there are probably dozens (or more) forum members who could "help" by referring someone to their traffic building "service". Problem is if they were all to post here it would make this board unmanagable and lose the unconditional learning nature of this forum. I"m guessing by your name that you probably have some valuable insite and can help a lot of us :)The plug in your signiture line (we all use those)should do it Smiling.

take care,
Carolyn

Sorry if I have offended anyone by posting a referral link. I'm new to these forums, and couldn't find posting rules anywhere. I have edited my previous post to remove the referral info.

Anyways, Carolyn has already described how Click-Thru network works. I just wanted to add, that it worked well for me in conjuction with Recommend-It type of script. It brings initial traffic until self-promotion thru "Recommend" button kick in.

One thing I noticed on your site is that you have CGI scripts that are available for downloads on your server.

If you did not write all of these scripts on your own, I think it would be a VERY good idea to give the person who made the script some credit. Maybe link back to there site of just say "Script made by --name--"

You also may want to add "These scripts are Copyright (C) to there respected owners" or somthing like that.
