I personally like the second one.

The second one begins to ask for a large icon graphic.

Upper left, reason is that your have cool icons on the pages and perspective imho begs for a large upper left graphic.

I agree with keegan but the little circle things with the subjects are just too removed from the rest. Make them fit together more and into the page more, it will look more.. professional. Also, the litte images at the bottom are [ointy-looking... like, the edges are too ragged. Plus they're rather unclear, it's kinda hard to look at. Try to fix that.

I would get rid of that right click disabled garbage. It is pretentious to use on a site geared for kids, and shows contempt for them.

The upper left graphic needs work, It needs a clearer definition of color and perspective.

The upper right button text is too small to read and is irritating to try to read.

Do you have cgi-bin access? I would get rid of the branded counter and install another (If you need help with this I would be happy to)

I can send you science projects that you can use on the site if you grow to the point of having space for them.

I have over 600 now and are formatted for them, just don't have a place to host a site for them right now.

I would be willing to send one new one a month as well to help you out.

Work on making the images text clearer.

pretentious ? contempt ? bit strong. do you complain to software companies who try to protect their products?
do you think warez is a good thing also?
if i copy games and dvd's was it the manufacturers fault for being pretentious trying to stop me with serial codes and passwords?

anyway apart from that thanks for the comments

Yes, yes (not really), no, no, I have over 140 DVD's

I will forget you are trying to get me into a discussion about piracy if you do not mention it again.

To clarify, disabling the right click menu is pointless. View source, file save as, my 9 year old neice would laugh at it.

Find someone else to fight with punky brewster.
You ask for a critique, then you complain.

You need some manors considering

and here
http://www.webmaster-forums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15273

and here you offer very little as your critique (critique 1)
http://www.webmaster-forums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15366

A side comment that is not even speaking directly to the original poster that asked for feedback (critique 2), if you want to call it that.

Spend some more time actually working on your site. There are so many copy cat educational kid sites out there, and yours is no different. Consider the comments not for your benefit but the benefit of your viewers.

That is why we do this, to help sites out.

I took your comments just as they were put, argumentative, provacative and naive.

I cannot speak for anyone here but I can say that you are not contributing anything except trouble.

Couldn't view the second one - 404 Not Found!

Could I advise a spelling check - grammer!?

Nice layout, but I couldn't fall in love with your colour scheme. That's a very subjective view, though.
