What do you think??
Ok - I've done my standard 3 reviews and I'm ready to open my site up to your constructive and valuable review. I know there's stuff that takes awhile to load, and I'm getting rid of the counter...and this site was coded by hand (I'm using Dreamweaver next time!) but I'd be interested to see what you think...
Thanx!
Tania

Hi,
Good looking personal website. On some of the pages there is no link back home.
I was wondering if you would pass on the name of the font you used on the wallpaper page (and where I could get it from). Would appreciate it. Thanks
Annette

hi nice site.
one the wallpaper page your white boxout of the logo 'desktop wallpaper' covers part of you coloured bar.
Some of the links don't have mouseovers in the centre holder...
Is that you on the homepage?
How did you get rid of the background on the picture on the homepage. I've tried to do that sort of thing so many times but i have a real hard time of doing it...
Cheers

Hello Tania,
Well It's the least I could do....
So this is how the professionals do it It's the small details that make a good site stand out form the rest and yours is good, Iv'e stated here I am not a fan of white backgrounds, that is a personal opinion, but you make it work, I Hate drop down boxes ala geocities, but all in all an excellent site, well written thoughts.

Well, I personally like white backgrounds. They generally give a clean look to a site. Your site maybe too clean.
Overall the site looks good artistically. I just think that it suffers a bit from being inconsistent. The home page is not identified as well as some of the others. A good start though.

A lot of terrific work on this site. I do wish that the entire package had a consistent theme but perhaps this is an artistic license allowed to personal sites?
A few observations not noted by the others (for the record, IE 5.5 at 1152x864):
General: It would be nice to have site navigation throughout. I get annoyed having to go home before I can go elsewhere. I also really really despise mailto links built into the navigation! I really do! I never hear anyone else complain about this though so perhaps it is a pet peeve
Animal Rights: The graphic in the top frame repeats vertically and the home link in the bottom frame loads within that frame (ie no target=top). I'm not sure why you would want to use frames here at all anyway.
Wallpaper: your background repeats.
Tina Arena: Broken graphic link.
Hall of Fame: No link home. Again, do you really need frames?

Hi Tania,
I think that your site is really cute. I took almost a minute for the home page to load but maybe my machine is just slow today. Anyway, you have organized your interests well here. I was a little confused about one thing. Who is the picture of on the home page? Is that you or Tina?
Maybe you could add a little text on the home page as sort of an introduction to the site. That would give visitors something to read while the images load.
On the Tina arena page you might add a little something about her for us "sheltered Americans". HAHA!! I had to follow the web ring to find out that she is a musician from Australia.
Each page on the site has different colors and layout. I am a big fan of consistency but I guess you can get away with this because it is your personal site and reflects your personality. You are sure to be a colorful person.
Good luck! Overall, I like it.

Looking at the first page, the deisgn you've created is really very good - interesting, unique etc. etc., but the Geocities banners and counter button just totally ruin that. You need to shell out a little bit of cash and get this site on a real server - shouldn't cost too much really.
I also have a problem with the lack of identification on the site - there's no logo or anything to tell me who or what this site is about. I feel like the square brackets on the front there should contain logo text not pop-ups of pictures from the navbar.
I also agree with what has already been said about the navigation and page-to-page layout variations. You absolutely must have a navigation bar on every page, or at least a button linking back to the home page. Consistency in layout and design really help to give a site some coherence and identity.

I agree with what's been said before, all pages should have a consistent theme, navigation should be present on all pages as going 'home' each time is very annoying and not all the 'home' links worked for me.
I love the home page though, although as I view at 1152x864 it is a bit left corner & white space. I would put everything into a table set at 95% x 95% & center everything that way it would sit nicely in the middle of any screen.
On that page how about putting your name in a nice fancy font in the [] so that it doesn't look like something should be there before mouseovers.
On the Tina Arena page you need to have some content or it looks like you've not finished it!
The animal rights page you have a frameset, why? On my screen the top banner (I'm assuming that's why you've used a frameset) it tiles the banner so I get in 1 and a half times going down, because you've apportioned the frames in percentages instead of pixels/1relative!! I'd get rid of the frames and put a table at the top of the page if you want the banner there 100% wide with no padding and set the banner as the table background.
You have got some good content, but I'd choose a design style and colour scheme, stick to it throughout and you'll have a very good unique site.

You need to use the width and height tags on the images, I'm not sure if i just have a slow connection today, but it took a little while to load and without the width and height tags or the images on the left the page kept jumping back and forwards until it loaded.
All the pages have different themes, one could almost be mistaken for being at a different site, your index is good, maybe carry that thru the other pages, also like the others have mentioned, you need more than just the 'back to main page" on each one.
The light blue and purple text on the 'about me' page is hard on the eyes
that picture at the bottom left on the animals rights page, how did you get my picture

Thanx for all your replies...I'll have to go investigate now This is a good way of learning the fine tuning of web design!
Be warned - I have other sites I'm going to subit *evil grin*

Very nice main page layout. (loads a little long but not much) Once you leave the main page There is no logo or graphic that carries over to let you know your in the same site. But very nice main page layout.

nice clean site with cool designs, i like the graphics, fonts and colors. On the front page you cropped the menu graphic too far into the drop shadow and it cut off, thats just one of my little pet peeves but overall i really like the style of your site, looks professional and its obvious that you put a lot of work into it.
