Website Update review

Hi,

I just updated my website design, added a guestbook and missing person's forum.

The idea being that people post their missing friend's name and home town and google picks it up. Everyone types their name and home town into google eventually, so hopefully they'll see this link and get back intouch with them. Smiling

Learned about Php and scripts for the first time and designed a better logo.

Thanks for the guestbook post jessica, I can only offer an affilate link for tracing people in the usa. I can recommend http://www.zabasearch.com its "google on steriods" and highly recommended by other USA Pis. see if it has your info.

Any reviews of http://www.tracepeople.co.uk ?

Just a quick one Andy. Dark text on Dark background is not advised. I never knew there was text in the navy blue until I looked closer. I would recommend an "identity"

What I mean by that is that if I never took my 5 seconds of attention to read what the site was about then I wouldn't known what it was for. Maybe on the main page, slip in a photo of a family hugging to show they found someone. Put emotion into what your promoting Smiling

I've commented on the site before and my views aren't different.

One thing though. Did you know for every person who searches for a people tracer, around 385 times the amount of people search for people finders?

I didn't know the statistics, but i did know that people finders is a much harder SERPs to crack. To be honest, most fo the sites showing up in people finder searches for the uK are eithe rbig USA firms or garbage sites that just have 1000s of keywords listed in hyperlinks on the page.

Thanks, for the stats though. Where'd you get them?

Thanks as well edpudol Wink

too much blue ,and the text at the top of you're page cant be seen
i think you need some more graphics ,and use differant colors to separate links And titles .

nice site ,good idea Remember to trade links with Other site's with the same Type of content Cool

Good idea but maybe make the site more inviting by not cluttering it up with text and links.

Andy,
I would get rid of the white and bright blue background. I would do a softer background and change the text to Tahoma or Verdana.

While the idea is there I think your layout is all wrong, the contact from at top left should be on its own page.
Your logo has to much drop shadow and is hard to read. How about have the word people in the magnifying glass like www.trace(people).co.uk
As you are offering a personal service and jumping straight in introducing yourself, a photo (passport style) could be an idea (unless you like me and scare small children lol)
To much info on the first page, also is some of the stuff repeated or different? like background checks ...
You have to many font colours, red, blue, green, black, plus all the hidden SE spam (hidden keywords).
Seperate the content, make use of heading tags, only use bold on important sections (one sentence max)
