Please review my brand new server monitor tool. It is home grown so it needs some testing in particular non US phone numbrs.

This tool will send you a text message to your phone if it finds your server to be not responding. You can monitor several ports and it can also send emails. Please try it! It is FREE!

The sounds nice. I signed up for it, and then had to signup for the regular forum access. I had a couple of problems with the singup process. Since the verification code (the letters in the specaled box) was all uppercase letters, I thought the process was not case sensative (which of course I soon discovered was a wrong assumption because it said I did it wrong. On the second attempt I read to the left where it was case sensitive. I might suggest the words "case sensative" above or below the verification box where my eyes are already looking.

When I was sent back for getting the verification code wrong all of the previous values were kept except for the password and confirmation password. At first I was a little ticked because I knew I would have to set everything up again, but I soon found out it was only the password. Was it designed like this so the passwords would be dropped? (I didn't like it myself, I only want to have to fix what was wrong)

Now that I am finaly registered, I have to login??? the registration process can leave me in a logged in state??

So I log in and look around for the Server Monitor Service I signed up for. I want to double check that I set it up correctly. I find it under tools, but nothing to indicate that I signed up correctly.

I see "You must be a member to use this feature! => Click Here to Register", so I click on the link and get a HTTP 404 error - page not found. The URL says "http://www.websiteauctionhub.com/forum/register.php".

I then successfully registered my site to be monitored. I'm excited to try the monitoring service.

So there might be a few good things there to be worked on.

Sorry about the lenghty signup process...
You only need to sign up onece and all the features will be available to you.
I checked all the links and they all seem to be working so I'm not sure what happend there but I will look into it.
Thanks for trying the service, I hope you like it! Smiling
Since the service is free all we ask is that you spread the word and link back to us.

I tried to register on your site with my phone number but unfortunately my carrier was not listed. I read in your post that you would like to know about the non-us carriers or providers. I''m from South Africa and my cellphone service provider was not listed maybe this was intended but you could also maybe add the various carriers. There are only three carriers. As for the rest of the site, first of all I think that you did a good job with the first impression. The few seconds that a person is on your site for will enable them to know if the site is for them or not and it looks great. Well Done.
But there is not really much else that I can add when taking into consideration the above.
Overall it is a well designed site with all of the necessary extras that you would expect. Good luck for the future.

This really works. I got 3 emails the other day saying my site was down. I called the hosting company, they were aware there was a problem and were working on it. A couple minutes later I got an email saying the site was restored. GOOD JOB!!!!!

How do you test if the site is up and running? Do you use PING or some other device?

It depends on the service, it can use ping but ping can be abused so I took it off the list.
The tool is free so all we ask in return is that you spread the word.
