The Webmasters Source
'The Webmasters Source'
hi, before you visit my site note the following
- It only took my 3 hours so it's not a exellent design
- I have only just put it on the internet for you lot to have a look at it
- I haven't used any code but HTML. I know PHP but I haven't yet got a free host with supports it and is reliable.
Here it is:
http://www.playthat.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tws/
Sorry about the long URL. It's only for you lot to have a look at.
It's main aim is to list websites for webmasters. A bit like a phone book except it's web addresses and for webmasters only.
Ok. You's lot may not use the things on it but some unexperienced webmasters may.
I may also have a rating service which people can rate by either clicking, '+' or '-'. This means the best ones will be at the top.
What, if it were yours, would you put onto it.

Starting to look like a link farm already.
Ask yourself, does the net really need another webmasters directory? have you seen how many are out there.
As for the site itself. The animation really needs to go, it makes it look cheesy, as if you haven't used any of the links yourself (ie link farm).
You need some kind of style for your categories, bold is good but to much bold is bad.

The moving links are making me dizzy, and the banner animation is too fast to even be noticed by most people.
I don't understand why the contact form is aligned to the right on the contact page. It's very simple, and there's not much else to say about it.

There are a billion crap webmaster directories out there but very few good ones. So there is opportunity there. This, on the other hand, is not even close to being of good quality.
If you can't do graphics yourself, get a template done or work with a designer who can help you out. It is absolutely essential to have a halfway decent logo and some sort of layout design. There doesn't seem to be any content here but when you get some it needs to be top quality -too many directories will only list in exchange for a linkback, which means that they are only missing out on the best sites.
Good luck with it

As I was saying before Jeeves lost my post , you need to have a good quality design to be taken seriously on the web. Now, whether you make it yourself or spend some money on a web designer, I feel it is essential. As a consumer market, internet users are very picky and webmasters/designers are often the worst! Provide good content with a stunning design and you may have a chance!

Um... are you serious?
How can people come to you as a "resource" when you don't even look "worthy" of it.
I mean, not only does it not have a design, it's even lacking a simple title for all your pages.
