this might not be a very useful critique but...here it is anyway.
I really liked the site, nice color scheme. It also has a very nice layout and makes use of the space very well.

Ravi

Hi - I still have carpal tunnel.. it's getting better though. I'll post some more thorough reviews when I can.
I work in distance education so this site was of particular interest to me. What I wanted to know was how much it costs to take a course there.
Layout a little disorganized I think - newsletter should be with search & logins. Form elements should have the same widths - looks better. Almost too much information - hard to know where to look but all useful so...
Enough typing for me right now! thanks for visiting TWF.

like everyone said, this is a very nice site - I think Megan Jack may have a point about the front page's organization - to a considerable extent, I'd say you've done a good job of producing the kind of info-packed page that you see on a lot of high-end sites - but there's probably still "room" to improve the layout along the lines suggested - also, can you move some of the text on the "getting started" page to the top of the front - like where that "Live Knowledge Trading Community" is repeated - basically, I'd try to do something more with the top couple of inches - it's not entirely clear what the site is about - if I were a regular visitor, would I object to scrolling a little to search, login or "tell a friend"? - the copy here looks real clean, but I did find a couple of suggested edits in "what's new" - a space around the hyphen separating the date from the blurb? - a space in here "What now?Are you" - delete the comma in "Our Course Calendar, eliminates" - btw, I can use all the help I can get on my site - I could use a job even more

Hi Rachel,
I agree with mmi that you need to be a bit clearer on what the site is all about - maybe a tagline or catchphrase near the logo or at the top of the page that identifies the content of the site in one sentence.
Other than that, excellent job. You've really put a lot of effort into this one. Maybe you'd do the honour of taking a peek at mine and give me some tips.
Kind regards,
Becky

Becky,
I went to your site and have this to say:
1st paragraph (home page)
Hi there and welcome to Cafי (need an "e" in cafe) Home, the website dedicated to, well, me. Please take some time to browse the site, I've spent (use "a lot" in place of "much")much time organising it and trying to create an easy-to-navigate layout. The links to all the major sections are across the top at all times, click on one and you will see the list of sub-sections (if there are any!) in the main window.
Layout is great, easy to navigate, good job Becky:)

Rachel, I am very impressed with your site. I can tell that you've worked real hard on it. My only complaint is that on my computer (Linux, Netscape) I can't read the text right below the verisign logo.
I am curious about one thing though. Why are your filenames so long (ex 0,1245,45293-10611905,00.html). I'm just curious what kind of indexing system you're using for that.
Great job, and I know you're still a relatively new member to the forums, so welcome!

I think that the site has a great color scheme and lots of great information. Great job on that.
But because you have so much information you have to very careful about how it's laid out so that it isn't overwhelming. When I first look at your site my eyes go buggy. So much to see, so much to choose from. There are all kinds of categories, tabs, buttons etc. And very little white space to help the eye see things better.
What about having your four sections (Categories, faq, next live class, top five courses) not be opened up. Just have those as links on the home page. Then they open up after you click on the home page link?
I just feel that the navigation is very confusing. Trying to understand how it is all linked together and how the pages correlate to each other. There are the boxes on the side, links in the text, several sets of links at the top. It just seems like too much and could be streamlined.
That's about it!
Brooke

StarsDesigns: If you want to get your site reviewed more thoroughly, post it in it's own thread. It will be easier that way, and you will get alot more reviews.

She already did, but the original poster asked for our URL's so she could return the favour.

Very professional web site Rachel. My only critique would be the top bar on the front page. On the right hand side the rows do not line up, which looks odd. I'd personally get rid of the margins on the page and add columns for side spacing. That way the top bar runs across the browser window completely.
Good luck with your site!

I love your site, it's really beautiful. The navigation is very simple and easy to use. The colors you've chosen are delicate but bold and easy to read at the same time. What can I say Star, you did a fantastic job with your site. I love the "Vintage Valentine". Very original!! I like the way it's personalized...almost like it brings out your personality.
Great job:)
Rachel
