First thing is make it all fit on 800*600 for the first page, too much grey space at the top & do you really need a splash page? Why have these links [ ::previous:: pixelcore:: ::random:: ::next:: ] when you haven't been anywhere and don't know what the site is about or where 'next' is? They don't actualy appear to belong to this domain anyway. Didn't click to find out.

The actual flash site is ok. Very similar to a hell of a lot of other flash sites out there. It's good but nothing really different to make me go WOW I'm afraid. (OMG I sound like a Pop Idol judge - one for the Brits!)

well the "prev, next, etc" thats a webring, thats their code. it doesnt have anything to do with my site. i fill fix the 800x600 res problem. thanks.
one question, how did it load on your connection, fast? slow?

Well I can't get to see the second page, after clicking "enter" on the first page the 2nd page starts to load then my browser stops responding & I have to shut down the browser and restart it (IE5 on Win2k)

Splash page - slow to load and empty looking, I'd move all the stuff at the bottom to the top, and remove the lower section, also center the star thingys. I didnt look but am guessing your using css for your text size for the copyright, next previous etc, its unreadable in NS4.7
Also in IE5 there are faded pink lines behind the stars, but none in NS, I'm guessing they shouldnt be there?

the page is loading now, man i hope i dont have to wait for 217 kb to load with no way to turn that dang music off, I'm loading the site in NS and IE, double music, make it stop!!!!

OK, i turned my speakers off (yaaa), nice graphics but wheres the content ?, wheres the links? you had next, previous ..... do i have to go back to the splash page again?
The word "main" is only just readable, way to much scrolling going on (verticaly) for the content there. on your splash page you have "optimal res: 1024x768" reworded as to say best viewed with, but on 800x600 there is so much space, I'd hate to see what the big screen version looks like.

The audio buttons are around the wrong way? when its on its a cross, when its off its a tick? (glad i found it anyway Smiling

OK, now i feel stupid, the word main is the naviagation control, doh. I found the archive (you need to make the words links, not just the ticks) and all the news acrhives is unreadable in NS, fonts way to small (also opens in a new window which is bad)

I think you need to add a banner or at least your name to it somewhere (at the top), I know its in the title bar but if you have a few windows open at once you loose what your looking at

good point on the splash, im going to condense it. hmm i dont see the faded pink in IE5...can you explain it? Yeah damn netscape! well the "next, prev" that does not have to do with the content in my site. It is a webring i am in and that is their code.

as for the audio, i am removing the song. i will make it optional Smiling well the off/on buttons, lol they arent backwards. i made it so the cross means click to turn off, sorry if its confusing i should fix that Smiling

i want to kill all the popups, can someon think of a good way? should i try to divide the page into two frames and load it into the frame? thanks BUSY! that was a great reply, APPRECIATE IT GREATLY!

pop ups - I dont think you can kill em, but even if you did its against your hosts TOS and could get you kicked out, best not risk it, maybe try for another host that uses a banner or no ads, or better yet your own domain.

You should mention its a webring or you could have people leaving your site before they get in.

the pink lines, i took a screen capture for ya, but changing from bmp to jpg changed the colors slightly, you can still see the lines but they arent as pink as on the screen., if you want to see the bmp, send me your email and i'll send it to you.

the arrows, the up arrow (on the blog) looks like it comes out now, and the down arrow sinks in, use the same cut out effect as the bottom if you want the same effect on top.
I notice you left aigned it now, looked better centered and with black background, grey looks to unfinished.

yeah the left align looks bad huh? I'll center it, but people are asking me to open the site in a popup. Maybe I should have the option of a popup and regular entry.

NO no no no, pop ups are bad, evil, nasty, yucky Laughing out loud

Keep it as it is, loading in the same window from the splash page, you could think about adding something to the progress page thou, 277kb takes a while to load on a 56k connection.
If you were to give an option, make it flash or no flash.

yeah the 277 is alot..but that is only temporary. I'm working on a way to only load about 50-100. however it doesnt seem to want to work, I think my coding is bad. I agree..popups are BAD! =)

This is not quite fitting in my browser window at 800 x 600 (probably because I'm using Opera...). I'm also finding the fonts at the bottom a little hard to read - with the black text on the left it's just the font, on the right side the white on light grey is the problem.

This preloader is taking quite awhile here... at least put in something to watch or play with while it's loading.

You definitely need to have some sort of logo up there - the top part with the stripes is looking very empty and there should always be some kind of logo or identifier on every page of a site.

Otherwise it looks very good - I like the way the pages come up. You could stand to enlarge that text area on the home page - it's just a little bit cramped in there.

eyecandy

one thing- when you click on the navigate bar and the menu comes down, click about and read, the menu overlaps the about section making it difficult to read

I didn't read the other responses, hope this isn't a repeat

Forgot one thing, I ran a webcam website for two years with stats tracked. Not one visitor to my site (~80 000 unique visitors) used an Opera browser. Just an interesting tid bit if you were considering design changes for that browser.

yeah i tested it with opera..thing seemed alright. i also coded for netscape 4.7, everything seems to be fine. sigh, cross browser coding, stop the madness!

One thing about Opera is that by default it identifies itself as MSIE 5.0. I don't know why this is - I'm guessing that it's because some sites (hotmail, for example) autmatically redirect you to a different and don't like to let you into their site if you're using a browser they dont "support" (commonly supported browsers being IE and usually some versions of NS). I've had very few problems with sites not working in Opera though.

Yeah I used to use Opera and didn't notice a difference between IE and itself. I rather like the interface, but for forms it handles some CSS styles differently. All in all a good browser Smiling

just for reference sake, I find Opera to be a lot closer to NS than IE.

**If you code for NS 4 or Opera today, you wont have to relearn everything tomorrow once the standards tighten up**

Hmmm... I find it closer to NS 6/mozilla if anything.... they have very similar levels of support for standards as far as I can tell, and don't include the annoying gimmicky stuff (coloured scrollbars and form elements, page transitions!) that IE has.

hehe yeah i guess you're right Smiling But i actually kind of like netscape 6, despite the bubbly kiddy look.
