1) Although your site could easily be made into a tables site, and wouldn't need to use frames, I still think it's ok.

2) I agree that the splash page should be taken off, 'cause it really doesn't serve any purpose.

3) Too many buttons spread out over all the different pages. I would take them off the navigation, and then put them all together on the main site if you HAVE to have them.

4) Get rid of the spinning "new" image, 'cause it's rwally annoying. Also, since I'm talking about the menu, I would add some type of bullet or something next to each link.

5) Why does the whole frameset reload when I click on a font? No reason for that, it just wastes bandwidth.

Overall, though, I really like it.

hey gang,

Just want an overall impression about the site. I won't tell you much about it except that it's a font site.

What do you think?

I think you should get rid of the splash page, it is just annoying. I REALLY like the , it looks awsome. You should make the logo appear on every page, and not just the main one though.

The menubar is too wide, and should not be centered. Your main area is too wide, and has a horizontel (sp?) scroll bar, which is an eye soar . You could probably do everything in tables, which would look better.

I like the colours you chose, they go really well together. You have tons of content (ie- fonts) which is great.

Good job

I’d have the same basic comments. The splash page really needs to go and the main pages need a more constructed layout (tables would work well). Right now you’ve got a lot of content, all you need is a good formatted layout.

For a font site, your choice of default is especially glaring. Italics don't work well online, and Times New Roman (standard default) is just icky.

As well, your images are of variable quality. You may want to get some tips on anti-aliasing your work so it is clearer (see especially the site fights image).

The content is great, and it is easy to get around in, that sort of thing. The colours are there. With the cool line art look you seem to be going for, you can do a lot more to punch up this site and make it look more professional. Right now it looks very unfinished/unpolished.

Structurally good, but it needs touching up.

If you really like the splash page, maybe you can add some META effects or something, so that the splash page appears for (maybe about) 3 seconds and the visitor will be redirected to the main page.

I think I was here downloading fonts last week!

Anyway, those buttons have to go! There is too much flashing going on here. I definitely agree that the spinning "new" has got to go, and also the red hovers (that colour totally does not go with the pale blue and yellow colour scheme) The problem with a pastel colour scheme is that brightly coloured add buttons really clash with pastels. THey stand out more, and distract people from your actual content. I would consider changing the colours to something more primary.

Your menu should be organized and labelled better - I don't know what half of these things will take me to. You should break those sections into two categores - content and untility stuff (faq, search, contact etc.) and put a space in your menu between the two sections. Some of these links are breaking out of frames (ie. "Friday night type fights" and the alphabetical listings under "font archive").

YOur link labels should also be more clear - "TTR Presents" should be "Designers" or something like that, just to make it obvious.

The A B C ... menu on the Font ARchive should be moved down more - it took me awhile to notice it up there. Maybe make it a different colour or give it a background of some kind. Hmmmm...I think that you should have some sort of design element going across the top of the site. It's weird how things just start right at the top. I would put another frame across the top, with your logo

By the way, I really like it when font sites organize their fonts into categores like serif, sans-serif, futuristic, retro etc. It makes it easy to find something appropriate without having to wade through every letter.

I agree with everyone, and then some:

You have too many italicised fonts and bold faced and there are so many buttons it distracts from the main page.

I like the logo, and you have good content. I would get rid of the frames. Use SSI if you want to make it easy to edit the left menu! Make a text file called left.txt and upload it, then use this tag to call up the text file:

<!--#include file="left.txt"-->

place it wherever you want the navigation content to go, and in the left.txt file, make your navigation links and stuff. First make sure you server supports SSI though! Some servers make it so that all SSI-run pages end in .shtml, but some don't.
