Megan, thanks for saving my time Smiling I wanted to comment on the fact it's a NUKE site and there's not much work he did with the theme, but you saved me the effort.
I'm just amazed of how people bust in looking for reviews, without paying attention to the rules established here. And, honestly, I've seen many askings for reviews for Templates or portals ... what's to be reviewd Laughing out loud

dojo, there'es more to the review than the layout.

Is the banner OK? is the writing OK? has he changed the theme OK? Which modules are good and which aren't?

so what it's a phpnuke site? its still a website and it has pros and cons like other websites and those can be reviewed here. (when he bothers with the posting agreement)
PS no actual reviews until he complies please.

I like the site personally -- it's very well laid out however, what's up with the banner with the two images that state "Welcome to Tricked Rides"?

Why should I do that, Taylor?

well dojo and taylor are obviously not helpful member of this community. thanks to those who defended the site. like heebie stated, just because i use a phpnuke backend does not mean theres nothing i did myself. i simply took the coding part out of the equation so that i could focus on the design aspect. i am asking for your opinions on the design, not the coding. if any of you have a problem with that, then feel free to keep it to yourself.

I'm sorry if I'm not helpful, but I kinda snap when I see posts to review a premade portal. I've got 2 nuke sites, and I can see when I get one in front of my eyes.
And now to be helpful:
The banner (header) is too dark. It's hard to see anything. The text has got an effect (outer glow ... yellow .. default in Photoshop), maybe you could make it white or light blue ... It would go better with the colour theme;
The banner down page is HUGE .. maybe smaller?
I like the way the navigation looks like, and the fact it displays visitors flag in who's online block.
Hope that helped Smiling

Well, what is the mandate of the site? If it's to provide information and get like-minded people together then it's very good.

The forum part of the site is nicely integrated with the rest but has been left with default styling, you might want to add a more personal touch to this component.

Aside from that, everything looks ok!

now theres some good advice Smiling thank you for the help.

dojo: I have made the glow effect white as you recommended. I also made it into one picture. I had three pictures spanning across three cells before to make it look proportional in different browser sizes, but I think I may be better off with one static sized image. I also brightened it up some. I decided to leave the banner on the bottom the way it is, they are an affiliate of ours so they deserve to get some recognition in my opinion.

JeevesBond: I sorta thought that the default phpbb theme fit in with the site kinda well. If you think it should be changed, then I will mess around with it some to get it to fit in better.

Thanks for the advice everyone, even though it is a phpnuke site Smiling If you have any more questions or comments, please let me know.

You're right Tricked Rides, it does fit in with the look of the rest of the site... The problem is that I knew it was the default theme.

It's your decision whether you care about this or not, or decide to change it at some point in the future Laughing out loud

Now that I've had another look at the Header, the images on both sides of your text are more clear now ... really gives it an awesome impression!
Cheers!

rotating rides in main picture will be nice. Try using a cookie that serves a different image whenever user returns to site or changes picture every day. Develop or write your own content in news section instead of linking to outside site like motortrend. If they remove article on thier end then you get al sorts of page not found errors and also they are a traffic magnet and distraction, your vistors will end up on those bigger site without spending alot of time on your own site.

Very nice Nuke template, Nice logo, coloumns might need a better border though. It's really hard to comment on Nuke sites but try to mod it by putting in a shoutbox or some other coloumn hack in. Otherwise quite good.
