This is an extention of TheCatSite.com. It's still not oficially online (you can't reach it from TheCatsite.com).

It's an ASP application that let's you build a web page for your cat. It's pretty much finished and we're doing the final QA before the official launch. The exisitng page are all demi-pages.

I would appreciate any comments. You can go ahead and play with the system, upload files and whatever. I'm going to clean the data base before the launch.

Thanks.

I liked it, but not having a cat I didn't build a page with my dog pics.
The homepage seemed to load slow; it looked like the server was slow.
The kitties loaded fine, and fast!
Sign-up looks simple enough...kewl deal.
None of the links worked from after when the search results page loaded, but that's perhaps the "under construction" part; np.
I saw about 7 kitties, and wondered if you allowed much text with each page...
Good going; wish I could do that!

Thanks!
All the links should be working (nothing is actually under construction now - it's the "quality assurance" testing phase Smiling)

Do you maybe remember which particular links didn't work?

I use Win98 SE that is having problems, but haven't encountered this before.
I entered from your .net site, view cats, accepted default setting, did search, and saw fluffy etc.
These links:

Care | Health | Nutrition | Behavior | Grooming | More Articles | Breeds | Forums | Postcards | Links | Shop | Home

Yet your code looks ok, for what I know!

Update...it didn't show actively going for it, although on hover the url shows in the bottom bar. Then it times out to a 404-type page...it could be your server.

A click on forums has this addy at the top in the address bar:
http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/index.php3

with this result at the bottom:

Cannot find server or DNS Error

That's using IE5.5 with a dial-up connection, not fast, but it looked like the server wasn't sending info.

I'll look into that.

Thanks! That's a great help!

Anat,

I will try signing up to test it out when I get a chance - hopefully tonight or tomorrow!

Alright, I'm signing up now - when you ask for "first name" should that be my name or my cat's name?

I'm used to seeing the reset button to the right of the continue button. I'm also used to seeing "sumbit" rather than "continue" so that might be something to change - I had to think there for a second Smiling

Now that I'm on the second page I'm clear on the name thing... Tabitha is actually a mixed breed with medium hair.

I don't understand why I need to use a "search form" to update my page now - why can't I just go to the login page?

It would be cool to be able to select a design for Tabby's page - like have a few set templates or colour schemes and let the users choose one.

Now that I'm on the FAQ page, I can't seem to get back to the main menu...

I'm looking at Mishmish's page now - that orange looks really bad on top of the light bluey-purple. I would change it to either white or pale orange. I don't really like that background file either. She kind of looks like Tabby. (and if you're calling her longhair, then I guess tabby's a longhair too! Does everybody have a cat in the bag picture or what ?!? Smiling).

Thanks Megan!

That was the first "real" cat page! I just reviewed it so you should be getting an email any minute now.

You hit the nail on the head with those comments - I'll go and work on that right now. I also noticed on your cat page that you split your cat story to 3 paragraphs, but it all comes out as one long paragraph. I think that would need changing too.

As for the page templates, I thought about adding this, but maybe later on. I'm paying someone to do this. It cost me 1500$ and I can't afford the multiple templates right now.

Thanks!

Oh, you already know what I think of Tabitha - she wasn't our cat of the week for nothing!

Not really a review, well I guess it is somewhat, but the design is fine.

The information I find ont he page is very interesting, I like to read about it.

I have two little furry critters myself.

Okay - here's the site now. It's now officially launched.

I had to clear the data base, so Megan, please make a new page for Tabby.

Thanks for the insights and I'm glad you like my site Grandmaster!
