I have just started a website about video and console games and need it to be reviewed please. Also, what is the best software for image creation and editing (or cheapest) and whats the best way to advertise?
Thanks in advance,

Interesting site.

Firstly, try to minimise the users use of scroll bars to view all you content. This can be achieved by placing links either at the top of the web page or on either side of the page (sometimes at the bottom). People do not usually want to scroll downwards unless they are reading an article in most cases.

I seems to me that you wanted all your content in the white space. With my monitor settings this effect is not achieved. What I do get, however, is parts of the text are in the darker portion of your web page, making it hard to read. You may consider left aligning your text or placing it in a table that is withing the white space. That should do the trick.

The menu on the left looks good, but try different colors to make it clearer and stand out more, plus move it up a little higher!

The site pretty much follows the same design layout which is not too user friendly. The content can be found... but the lay out of the content seems some what chaotic.

Try Adobe Photoshop for image creation and editoring. You can get a trial version at no cost. It's pretty much an industry standard.

Good luck with your site.

Is there a way to have a text size that wont be affected by the text size tab in the view menu of internet browsers, because that is probably what is making the text go astray?

Also I can't save adobe files (.psd) and then use them in Microsoft Frontpage

You would export or save as... the .psd images into web formats -- JPEG, GIF and PNG.

Better to create your site to adapt than to force others to endure a reading situation that is uncomfortable for them.

But still, is there a way?

I just wanted to say that console gaming sites are without a doubt the most common type of site we see posted here. You've got a lot of competition. Honestly, if you just want to work on your skills there's nothing wrong with making a personal site/blog type thing. Put in some stuff about gaming if you want.

For image creation, look into Paint Shop Pro (by Jasc Software). I think it costs under $100 US and for your purposes it'll be just as good as the really high end packages.

A lot of your stuff doesn't show up in my browser (I use Opera 7.5). That's what happens when you use FrontPage.

yes, there *is* a way, but you shouldnt do it because its nasty.

If you really, really want to know, you need to fix the text size using pixel measurements in CSS (or use the font tag if your really desperate *shudders*).
