Tell me what's wrong or right... - from CDS
The original of this site is one of my first web sites I ever designed and to be perfectly honest, think it kinda stinks, but gotta learn somewhere.
This is my new rendition of just the index page so far, so let me know what you think. Same basic scheme, but improved (I think). Most of the links don't go anywhere except to a 404 error, but I just want your opionion on the look and feel. Once I have the index page, then I can convert all the pages.

Hey Dan,
I would ditch the bk and think of a logo for starters - not just a heading. Then make a visible column on the left to separate the text from the nav menu.

OK, that's better:
- still need a good logo to put in the place of the red text/number.
- use an obvious/coloured nav bar in your bg image.
- get some better (longer) buttons for navigation.
In fact, hust had a thought, as the site is small I would have the navigation run along the top of the page, say a black/blue bar 1 com thick with the white text navigation links on it, then you can have a more centered layout.
What do you think?

Fixed a couple little minor things. Rollovers were wacky for one, fixed an alignment problem in IE. Gonna leave it for a bit and see what ya'll say.

Thanks Jim & JP,
Appreciate the help. Now all I have to do is redo the other 40 pages in the site;) What did we do before copy and paste?

Dan,
Switch everything to .shtml files and use SSI's (Server Side Includes)! My game started with hundreds of pages and now has thousands of games weekly (most of them are automated)... After the first time I added new links and other functions that are on every page, I learned quickly how it could all be replaced with SSI's and have not had to worry about it again. Now I just change 3 files, and all of the pages change automagically!

Hey Dan,
Just one thing I saw. Change the e-mail link so that it matches the top links. OK maybe two things. Change the highlighted color to green to match the logo below.
Nice clean look. Looks great

You can actually use SSI's without changing all your .html pages to .shtml by editing your .htaccess file - I do!

Hi Dan,
Been watching your great progress
Love the nav bar on top
Everything looks technically correct from here. I'm not really fond of the font you use in the logo but that could just be my personal taste.
I think i would remove some of the space between financial services......... and optical.......rows.
I'm also not really fond of serif fonts in italics, but again that just could be my taste.
keep up the great job
take care,

OK, we're getting there...
- make the top/bottom buttons the same colour as the cell bg.
- center the symbol in the logo.
- I would put the whole site in a 620 pixel table with a 1 pixel black boder.
Like it?
