Very nice, I'm not into the gaming stuff but this looks like a gaming suit to me, even without content.
I would be very careful thou of your graphic topics, I know its only a gaming site but the center image behind the name could to some look like the twin towers.
a couple of ideas thou, the very top left corner, the dudes hair is a little jagged, maybe smooth/blend that out, and the other thing is the blend between the top image against the grey, maybe fade it in?
you mentioned you're going to make the side as percentage, you're better off leaving the sides fixed and using percentage for the middle section, fix the corners and use the long straight middle section as a background image in that table cell and it will suit anysized browser. The correct way to do this is with a style sheet but could use both (I would as some v4 browsers have problems).
I just noticed red alert on there, wow I played that way back then, the first version, am I old or what lol.
hmm just looking at your code, you have fancy scroll bar colors, what version browser does these work on as I've never seen them. it doesnt work in IE5 or Netscape 6
I pressed the red alert link (I just had to see lol) but the top graphic doesnt show up and the links arent lined up, the blue links are very hard to see against the grey and the right side the text links "your link here" sarts above the box.

Graphics definitely need work as Busy said. Not overly struck with the colours either, I don't think red works well against the green nor on the maroon. Hurts the eyes after a short while.
You definitely need to sort out the tables, fix the side ones in pixels and allow the middle one to stretch if that's what you want to happen, not the other way around or your bottom part of the man wont line up. In fact where the top graphic stretches to fit the table at 100% it doesn't line up at larger resolutions now.

I think you're going to have a problem making anything here percentage width just because of the big graphic at the top. Right now you've got it set to 100% width, right? Not a good idea for a big graphic. The first problem is that the green fire on the left isn't matching up at 1024x768 and as the graphic gets bigger it gets distorted - I imagine it would look pretty bad at even higher resolutions. It keeps messing up on me too as I resize my window - now I can't get it to show up at all. You're going to have to give up on the flex width idea and just do this fixed.
While I'm at it I also think that you should re-do the text on there - it just doesn't stand out at all. Maybe try it in green.
I don't like the use of red in the navbar either. Maybe try a yellow or a shade of gold taken from the fire in the top graphic. Use that for the text on the graphics headers as well - I like the green texture you have there but the red isn't showing up very well against it.
I like the way you've layed out the site with the grey border areas. Just make sure the height of the curves match - the middle curve is a little shallower than the side ones and it just doesn't look right.

Thankyou all for your input, i am goiing to make the top a fixed pixel and the add a graphic to the right to stretch, also the menu uses hotspots for links, but at larger resolutions the hotspots dont line up if the side is in a % so i'm gonna leave that fixed. Also i need to make rollover effects and i have changed the middle to 3 rows where the middle bit is a background and can expand.
Unfortunately the background came from Red ALert 2 and yes it is the twin towers but i cant be bothered designing a new banner so at the moment its gonna stay.

I have one comment. I think that the graphics of the twin towers in in bad taste. Just my opinion.

Just two things I'd recommend, the links I think might be better with some kind of rollover effect.
And also, at the bottom it says "This site and all information are copywrite of Elite Gamers..." I'd recommend changing it to "Copyright"
