Ha ha ha. Well, it looks like you just started making sites right? No offence if you haven't. I don't know what to say. Go read some tutorials at www.htmlgoodies.com
and go check out www.coolhomepages.com for help.

I am not going to be rude and laugh like Parker did, but I add some comments:

The page looks ok, you did a good job at it for a beginner. I think instead of plain text links, you should have buttons (to spice the page up a little). If you do not have a graphics editor, check out http://www.cooltext.com. They have a great utility that creates buttons on the fly (with the text you specify).

The design is pretty basic, but it gets the job done. on the other pages (besides the main one) I don't think you need both menu's (at the top and bottom). I would take away the top menu leaving the bottom.

Yeah Parker, give the guy a break. Would you want to be laughed at?

1) The logo on the main page is cool. I think it fits with the black background great! But, you need to have that logo on every page in a smaller size maybe.

2) The menu is a good start, but you need to first not center all the text, and second you need to add some type of bullet next to each link. Also- the menu is in a different spot on some of the pages.

3) You need to pick two fonts at most to use. I picked out 3-4.

4) The pages scroll horiz. on my 800x600 resolution. You need to fix this.

I love a guy that tells me to be mean!

Okay, I think the splash with the image of your logo is great. Or rather that the patch itself is great. It could fit into one screen at 800X600 with a little bit of resizing and playing with the menu (less space between the lines). It's powerful, and I know IMMEDIATELY that this is a touring group. That is good.

I don't like the scripty font for the title, I would prefer the same as on the patch. Consistency! You do use it throughout the site, though, but I would rather see a wee version of the patch as the home link on every page, and the text in the same or similar font to the one on the patch.

Check your links to make sure they all work (index.htm is not found on this server), don't center text unless it is a heading or a full-justified, indented blockquote. That goes for links, too -- it makes it harder to read the links when the eye has to search for the next line.

Once I am 'inside' the site, I see a number of things you can fix immediately. One is to ditch the horizontal lines -- they do not help the content, and on the black actually distract from the flow of the page. Having the text links is so nice to see I want to kiss you for having them at the top AND bottom and don't ever change that -- it's wonderful.

The images on the pics page -- big no-no. Resize them in a graphics editor and use the small images to link to the big ones. That way people can CHOOSE to view (and therefore choose to wait) the larger images. Since you very nicely have the images set up on their own pages, why not keep the page background black (consistency!) and add some descriptive text for the rest of us so we want to join you on the next tour?

On the sub-sub pages, make sure you include the major links, please, so I don't have to back out, or click so many times to get back to the links.
http://www.valleycruisers.com/images/upcoming_rides.htm doesn't exist -- good that there is a link in the text, but make sure it's the right link.

On the whole it is well organized, it definitely conveys what it is supposed to convey, and it is 'sticky' in that I can still see the emblem/patch, and if I lived there, I would probably want to join you on the next ride, assuming that page is properly linked.

hth,

Suzanne

No offence Parker! but I told you that your new, soon to come web site wasn't that great, and you didn't enjoy, nor like that! I think you should say you are sorry!

Now to the review! I like the site though, it is nice and simple, and GREAT for a beginner! I wouldn't use the black though, it is to dark. Use white or a light blue. great job!

No I wasn't laughing at the site! I was laughing at Bilbong for messing up the link! Sorry if you got that wrong.

It does look rather amateurish, but there's nothing wrong with that if this is one of your first sites.

I think the black background is fine in this case. Just don't use blue text on it, because that is really hard to read.

The patch logo is really nice - it should definitely appear on every page. Get rid of the HR tags and table borders on the calendar. My pale green desktop colour looks really bad against your black/red/blue.

Overall, the site is alright. The navigation works well and it looks like it will serve your purpose just fine. The next step is to add more design elements - colour blocks, graphics etc.
