We do ask that before you request a critique of your site that you give your comments on at least three other's sites posted in the forum. This will not only help you get ideas and see what people do/don't like but it always helps other's having a fresh pair of eyes on their sites.
I have quickly glanced at your site and it looks good but I'll have another look later and give my feedback then.

Your site is good, but when I pulled it into netscape everything was out of alignment. I would recomend using plain old tables with plain background colors insed of using your background in your body tag. this would help things line up in all browsers and you wouldn't have as much of problem of trying to keep things where you want them.

Sorry webmistress my mistake I thought these boards didnt post your message live just like Sitepoint so I thought I would have a couple of days to reply.
Anyway Im here now and thanks for the comments all have been noted..well Im off to review peoples sites.
Hi webmistress, I have done as you said and reviewed some sites, so I hope I am forgiven for my sins
Seriously though I am impressed with these forums, the quality of designs on show and the knowledge of the members, I think I will enjoy contributing to these boards and I may have found myself a new home.
If any one would like to still review my site all comments would be welcome as I need as much feedback as possible before I start to promote it properly.
All the best Chris @ Stickysauce
P.S I will try to review as many sites as possible:laugh:
A. Unique
B. Clean
C. A feeling that this is a place to return again and again.
D. Easy to navigate
I think you got away with mixing red with pale blue. If you were to get rid of one of the colors it shouldn't be red as red goes with your sticky sauce idea. By the way what a great and unique name.
MS 4.6, IE 4.0, 800x600, Mac, 33.6 (don't laugh!).
Looks pretty good. I like the colors.
Like dukk said, there are some alignment issues in NS.
That red/orange real estate in your logo area looks like it should have something in it. Maybe "the universal webmasters resource" could go there?
I'd put the site name in the title, since that's what will show up if someone bookmarks the site. "Free content, freebies news, royalty free photos" wouldn't jog my memory with "Oh, yeah, that stickysauce site I liked!"
You have slight horizontal scroll at 800x600.
I really wanted to try your Screen resolution validator but it didn't work in either browser for me.
Oh, i like the red and light blue. As long as you don't put them right next to eachother, always seperate with a black or white i think it's very effective. There are so, SO many worn out, boring, terribly overused color combos on the red, oddball ones like red and sky blue pop out.. imho at least.
I'm liking the look, it's clean but distinctive, usable and it doesn't seem too empty which is a downfall of a lot of 'clean' designs. But at the top you have a few little periwinkle boxes. What's with that? You don't have that color anywhere else on the site, it doesn't fit to me. It's not glaringly tacky or anything, I'm a little nit-picky.
I like the logo thingy, very cute.
The only other thing that i didn't like was that you have the webdesign book list on the bottom of -every- page. Couldn't you just put it on the bottom of the first one? or make a seperate page?
I am not so crazy about the colors either. Maybe a darker blue would help. The Netscrape alignment is pretty bad. Opera and IE both showed okay. I love it when a site like yours has a consistent theme. Your site was sticky. Everything was sticky and hopefully you will have visitors that will get stuck on your site. I would say that if you fix the alignment in Netscape and change that blue, you will be there.
Mark Irving I have a mind like a steel trap; it is rusty and illegal in 47 states
Like the overall look of the site. After the initial dazzle of the combo of colours I'm now quite used to it. The logo and even the animated gif look great. Love the name.
Some pages were slow loading on dial-up in peak hour time.
Just some grammatical stuff - Welcome message on homepage - Resource's should be Resources. I.T. jobs - use 'into' instead of 'in to' or leave out 'in'. Hope this makes sense! Ask someone to proof read it for you. Email me if you would like me to continue with the editing. There are mistakes in other sections (eg. dont for don't).
Could the logo be linked to the homepage? I know the Home link is just below it but like many others, according to usability studies, I automatically click on the top left logo on pages expecting a home link.
And yes I have bookmarked the site! I will be coming back!

I just have to say that red and pale blue clash - badly. Change one or the other, or both. Otherwise it looks pretty good.

Oh just noticed something.
There is no bottom to your web site. Maybe you could add a rounded bottom part to your site.
