Thanks Justin, I have just upload a new page and as suggested by you and Megan.

Can you have a look again and see whether I need to do what kind of changes?

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I am designing one of my site and have started with the first page which took me a few hours and would like some ideas and suggestion on the layout, color, text, and anything that I might not have noticed.

The buttons links are not working as I would like the first page to look good before working on the other pages.

Your feedback is very much appreciated

Thanks.

Alright, here's the rundown..
1). I don't like the whole 'every table cell is a different color idea'--it looks too pastel. Try getting some consistency going.
2). Expanding on that idea: Pastels don't really look good anymore. I'd try doing a color that's not always used in web sites. If you're really drained for ideas grab the trial version of a program like Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.0 and use the color picker..
3). Looking at it from a graphics point of view, the top image just seems... out of place. Perhaps by adding an outline to those gradiants will look good.
4). I think it's all about how you view it, really, but the text just seems.. out of place. Perhaps by having a true color scheme you'd minimize this?
5). What I think is always forgotten in web sites is the lack of an eye catching/abstract interface design. Take for instance my web sites--I perfer to have small text at the top and bottom of each page, stylishly inserted through various ASCII characters.
6). I don't know, really. I really think the text looks out of place...
Good work, I'd say. Looks like a lot of time was put in.

Did you think about your colour scheme at all? There are over 10 different colours on this page. Pick two or three colours (that match) and stick to them.

Overall, this looks like something that was thrown together in Front Page about 3 years ago.

Thanks Megan and TGE for the helpful suggestions and comments.

Actually I am not a good graphics desgner and I am now learning Psp5/6 which I did the graphics myself using some techniques found on the web, I hope to improve my skills in two months time.

Thanks again.

1) Way too many colors. Like Megan said, pick at most 3 or 4, and use them throughout the site.

2) Get rid of the ugly table border.

3) The drop-shadow for the "webhosting for malaysian..." graphic is too deep/long. It makes it hard to read the text.

4) Make the table a fixed width. On big monitors it will look terrible.

Overall I agree with Megan: looks like it was made in frontpage, and so it needs a complete re-design...

Looks better...

1) Make all the menu buttons the same size, and put them all one after another. What I mean is, there is a big gap between the top 3 buttons, and the bottom 3 (which are bigger).

2) Make the table a fixed width (600px for example).

That's all I can think of right now...

Get rid of that grey table background. ALso try changing the red text to a dark green.

Much better.
