I like it alot.

1) if the person doesn't have flash do you offer an html version?

2) graphics are a little fuzzy

3) takes a long time to load

Hi Everybody,

this goes out especially to the German readers but of course anybody else's comments are appreciated, too.

I'd like to read your comments about http://www.schaffhausen-interactive.de. It still has some glitches that we know of but my questions rather goes out to the general concept and design.

And by the way: Would you submit the contact form?

Thank You,

Malte

The explanation points look fuzzy in the top nav.

It's slow for me and I have dsl...

But overall I like the look and the colors!

The Flash problem was probably because we just uploaded a new version to the server.
The HTML version is only a copy from Flash screen shots. There wasnt time for more, so at times they will be fuzzy.
The images in the flash version get their fuzzienes from the high compression. Otherwise the file would be too big, so you have to make a compromise.

The main problem I see is that it takes forever for the flash to pre-load. And why does it say contact when the flash thing first loads? I think it should have the company logo first. You also have to many pages before the main site. How do you get to the contact form? The only thing I can find is a page that sends the contact info through email.

Well, when to put the company logo is not my decision. Thats what a 10 people team is thinking about 8 hrs a day.

I see what you are saying with too many pages before the main site but in the end this site is about trying something new. You'll find 1000s of website with the same scheme. This one is totally different. Its all about getting contact information. The content is not really an issue. You dont make money with that. You make money with getting customers. We have a pretty impressive portfolio, but we decided not to put in on there.

The "contact" button on the first page has a little mistake in it. Because you have to hit the characters directly to get through. I will put an invisible box behind it, soit will be easier to hit. Of course the contact form will eventually be sent via eMail. Probably by tomorrow night, but the site had to be online with the scheduled press release, so...

You might take under consideration that the target audience of this site is willing to pay $10000 a a million dollars for a site. That doesnt mean at all the site has to be perfect because the people who decide over such amounts of money dont really care that much about that.

The next step will be to get rid of the one big preloading sequence and devide the document into smaller packages with short preloading. That way hopefully people will get the illusion of shorter preloading.

Does anybody have other hints to reduce the file size of the flash files other then getting rid of the JPegs?

Could you please specify?

There is a little bug in Flash that does display a 0 alpha transparency as not completely transparent.

BTW: Did anybody enter anything into the contact form? There is a very nice surprise in that one.
