Hi,
- The left hand column is not flush with the top blue cell.
- It feels like I'm looking at the site through a blue tinted piece of glass. Smiling I would really suggest some more colours.

I am thinking about making the logo for my site a different color and the picture of the person doing the trick a different color.
What colors would you suggest for the site logo and the picture of ther person?

I run a large skateboard site. It recently got reviewed by hitbox.com/websidestory and they didn't really say anything bad about it. I want to know what I should fix and what I could make better. Thanks everyone!

I would advise RED as it goes well with blue.

Actually, I think that your site looks good. Nice load time, easy navigation system, and an overall user-friendly design. Good work.

I agree that your site has a very clean design, good load time, easy navigation. If you want criticism, though, my main one is that it tends towards the dull/somewhat generic. Especially for something like skateboarding, where there's lot of excitement and imagery inherent in the topic, you need something which captures the imagination as well as makes information easy to access. The design, while clean and efficient, is a variation on a pretty common theme. As for suggestions... well, try some colours other than blue/white for one. Also, try giving your links a hover (rollover) colour. While load time is always important, try using a few more photos/images, and either untinted or tinted something other than blue.

That may sound harsh, by the way, but it's because your design is perfectly good now and there are now obvious things to say. I just think it needs to go beyond simply presenting information efficiently.

A topic like skateboarding would go well with warm but vivid colours: red, orange, black.

Thanks for the suggestions. In my next design which I am currently working on I am going to use more colors.

Hi Travis,
Love the way your site looks. The way it is now with the blue posterized skateboarder, I would maybe introduce a couple of primary colors to accent it like red and yellow or purple and green Smiling maybe colored mouseovers and a few bullets or changing the color of the headings would do the trick. But it looks pretty darn good as it is Smiling.

take care,
Carolyn
