I really like the originality of the site! I did get an SSI error when it was trying to process the directive. I don't really like the banner type thing your trying to make.

You mean the banner advertising freebiesource.com? Why don't you like it?

Hi Tim,
I just went to your site and it looks like there's not much on there to begin with (ie..front page) I do like the boxed in design, I might add another color or some graphics to liven things up a bit.
content wise, I can think of a lot of things that you could add to compliment your site. Since you offer free hosting-- web design, how about some tools for the do-it-yourselfer like tips or links to resourse sites, software, scripts or online tools? There are quite a few CGI scripts for these tools like meta tag generators, search engine submissions etc...
I personally feel that the more "service" you offer the easier it will be to attract visitors Smiling.

take care.

Hi Tim,

I think that the layout is very clean. But it does seem a little bare. Maybe add some graphics - or use some graphics as navigation instead of text.

Good job!

Tim,

I'm not sure if the site in the URL you posted has changed, but I just went there and what I saw is a total ripoff of webmaster-resources.com. I'm not sure you want to copy their design, as Matt (the Webmaster) has quite a lot of people behind him that will kick your *beep* (that was a censorship sound) Wink

WAIT a minute!!!!!
aside from a similar shape and color and menu system(popular in MANY web sites , I fail to see what that post was all about. The content is completely different from what I can see. You could probably find MANY web sites with that "boxed in" rounded corner look and with a limited number of web ok fonts it's pretty hard to be original that way too. I'm sure webmaster-resources wasn't the first and will probably not be the last to use that type of design with those colors.
Are we supposed to limit ourselves from every possible "look" for fear that someone else might have done it? I cant tell you how many times I've seen one popular striped bkgd pattern but I certainly wouldn't start screaming "ripoff".
Anyway, True, there are a lot of "ripoffs" out there --stealing codes or tutorials or names etc.... it's hard to know exactly where to draw the line. --what about all the thousands of "front page webs" that use the same basic layout and identical graphics, I woudn't call them ripoffs based on that alone.

take care,
Carolyn

Hmm... the color scheme is exactly the same (looked at the code) the border is exactly the same (same size round) the vertical lines are the same... the horizontal link bar and blue subtitle bar are exactly the same...

If you didn't rip code like many wanna be webdesigners do, then you probably just saw Webmaster Resources page and when you went to design your it was in the back of your head. And you managed to duplicate it without knowing to the finest detail. amazing. If you use somebody else's code, boxed in graphics/look, color scheme, etc., that's fine with me. But NEVER do that for a commercial site. NEVER.

Waaait! I just went to my site and saw it had been replaced by 'Eosnet free web hosting'. That was not what was there before - it was a site about fonts. I will ask them to put my site back up so you can see it for real.

Thanks, Tim.

Tim,

So you're not part of Eosnet team? If you are not, sorry for saying you ripped off webmaster-resources. But if you are from Eosnet, let me tell you that the HEX colors are EXACTLY the same... so there's no way it could have been a coincidence.

I wish to know more about this issue, as Matt and I are very good friends, and I always help him fight when someone steals his design or content Smiling

It will be a little while before my site is up. I'll let y'all know! ~Tim

Hello again

ttf.eosnet.com is gone thanks to Eosnet--not in business any more. If anyone wants to host the site for free contact me. You can include banners on it if you want.

On another note, what do you want to see in a free font site? Any suggestions? ~Tim
