The reason it is asked is because it helps you as well! We are not going to insist that you do but it does make others more inclined to help you out if they see you participating. Plus seeing as none of us have heard from Chad in absolutely ages & we aren't mind readers, how would we know what Chad said?
Joining a forum is about being part of the community so it would be appreciated if you could review some of the others sites and as I said it will help you by getting ideas and also seeing what we as reviewers like/dislike.

Goddam! let people skip the flash movie! Theres nothing worse than having to sit through a minute of flash animation when your in a hurry. Plus how are people without flash meant to get into the site?

Ok, you are now able to skip the intro. Thanks for the tip.

Somehow I doubt this -- Chad was part of the group that decided that the rules needed to be in place in the first place. Also, he doesn't actively moderate the forums, he leaves that in the capable hands of Mark Hensler and the Moderator Team.
Please take the time to review other people's sites and contribute to the community.

The intro looks pretty good to me. It's short and simple, but still looks nice. Loads fast for me (but im on cable). The actual site looks so-so. I know you're still working on that part.

First page looks alright but the skip intro could be a little easier to see, not everyone has the time, download speed or inclination to watch

oh yeah, i like this one. the flash on the front page does make the site appear more interactive. and i like the main graphic. it looks high-tech. however, if you're using black backgrounds the site will have to be a niche site. we all know that white backgrounds are mainly used for company websites, etc. so, black backgrounds is the opposite.

Arrgh! ANOTHER one of those sites that has music that you haven't asked for AUTOMATICALLY start playing! How about removing the intro and then on your website linking to the intro for those who want to see it? Or why not make a first page where users can click with or without annoying intro?
Just my 2 cents if you want to keep your users from running FAR FAR away.

the point is the intro is the site right now. When the actual site is ready to go I will just take off the intro completely and it will be a completely different look than the splash page that is up.
