Review: uploadi.info
After spending over 2 weeks in making a good upload script, I can finally say that my "free image hosting" website is complete. The thing is, I have to make my site comparable with other sites, here is what I offer:
-700kb files
-All file types, including rastor and bmp files (many disable it)
-Easy to use
Site is: http://uploadi.info/
The URL is pretty easy to remember! Do you think I will suceed? Please place comments here. Also many people say the layout is bad.

I dont think the design of the site is very good so you have to put some time on that.
Cheers

Can you please be a bit more specific? Is the colours or the alignment or what? Some people dont really like the baby blue.

Here's some love. The site is lacking color. I run an image hosting site and I am not going to try to compare your site to mine but I will say that I often look at another site Imageshosted.com and that's a good looking site that I should model mine after somewhat. Your site needs a better layout. You need to add meta tags to your page if you want some of the major search engines to find you. Add more text about the services you offer in H1 tags so that you can get indexed better also. I'd edit the PHP file so that upon successful uploads it's more personal and not just the generic, "Here is your log
File was uploaded
View at http://uploadi.info/images/419button1.gif
Thank you for using upload.info's services."
This would be a good spot to add a sponser add for your users to go to your sponsors once there files have been uploaded and they are given the url.
On http://uploadi.info/tos.htm there is a broken image.
http://uploadi.info/faq.htm look at that page in firefox
http://uploadi.info/view.php Why show all files to the general public?
Add a contact form. Many web users now have e-mail account at GMail, Hotmail, and Yahoo. Often times they aren't connected to there pop mail account. I'd suggest adding a contact form on your site instead of the regular mailto: link.

Ok, I'll fix all of that in a moment. Just one thing: people keep uploading adult material onto the site. Is there any way to prevent this?

Not really. You just have to moderator the site for about fifteen minutes a day. I've got nearly three hundred registered members and out of the three hundred users they all want to test and see if they can upload porn and be undetected. Make sure you only allow certain file types. JPG GIF and PNG Check your logs and see what are the most viewed files. Often times the pictures stored on your servers that violate your TOS are viewed most often. If you find offensive material delete it immediately.
Hope that helps.

Ok, I redid the layout. Instead of the baby blue, I now use light grey. Take a look!

That's a hundred times better. The upload button doesn't really fit with the rest of the site, you may want to move the navigation to the top of the page, and it would be nice to have a litte distinction between the content and facts (like image types), but other than that it's really a nice site.
