Hi,

This is one of the sites that I have designed and I would really like to see what people think of it.

Personally I am very happy with it, but I am sure there are many bits that I am just not noticing that I could improve upon.

I would love to hear peoples critisms, so this can help me in the future to produce greater sites.

Thanks to anyone that chips in Smiling

Welcome to TWF Matt,

We do ask that you review at least three others sites before asking for one yourself, so can you help us out by doing that and then people will look at yours.

I'll have a look at http://www.slinky.co.uk and post again with a review in a bit.

Feedback:
-Maybe the titlebar's height is a bit large
-Because it's such a large site, I would add something like a search option to find quick info.
-Consistent but not boring (ideal combination IMO)

Overall: a great site for a great club. been there once (Bristol)Smiling

I'm not sure about the flash intro. Took a while to load for me on adsl so what's it like loading on a modem? Plus it doesn't help with search engine submissions or telling a visitor what the site is about. The site is good but I agree with Jack that the logo area is too big and I would personally combine the flash one & static one into one nice logo using the arcs (for want of a better description Wink) and definitely put some kind of search facility on the site.

The flash intro has defintely got to go. I serves no pupose on an informational level, and it does not coordinate with the rest of the site on a visual level.

The flash logo on the main page has also got to go - it's too distracting. I like what you've done with the rest of the layout though. The headers you've got look particularly nice - I wonder if you could incorporate something like that into the logo area.

Towards the bottom of the page I'm seeing way too many "slinky" logos all over the palce -s omething should be done about that.

I don't particularly like the way the pages change background colour and the layout on a lot of them could use some fine tuning - basically better organization, less clutter, and more coherent style from page to page. The background thing would be okay if it happened more consistently - if every page changed background to a different bright colour rather than the more haphazard way it's implemented here.

Oh, and lose that black bar along the bottom with the white-blck gradient - like the flash page it doesn't match the rest of the site at all.

I am on a dial up and it took way to long for the intro to load. Intro was nice but there really isn't enough to it to warrent waiting that long. THe home page wasn't too fast loading either. I think you should use the "arcs" as webmistress said for your logo but make it static. All of the animation is slowing down your load time. That phone at the bottom left has a file size of a whopping 40277. You might could trim that down by using plain text to tell about the Nokia covers. If you wanted to trim load time further you could make all of those images on the home page a little smaller or get rid of some of them all together. Not sure I like all the different color backgrounds on the other pages. I would get rid of the welcome to slinky at the bottom of the page too.

the text under the "skip intro" is to smal to read on IE5 (would be unseeable in NS)
AARRGGHHHHH that music, I have 6 browsers open, 2 IE, 2 NS and 2 Opera, and 3 of these are your site, and that damn music. put a option if they want it in their face, not everyone has the same music tastes, some may be listening to mp3's (as I was) or other just dont want more pop ups.

when I saw your request title, i got all excited because I thought it was about slinkys, the toy we had growing up ... but now I see its a night club (I think). The introducing paragraph tells about a world famous night club but your links above have "opera house", "buy", "slinkykids" etc so am really confused what its about.

there is no "about" link so cant find out, looking at the first page its just another product site?

As a product site is laid out so-so, you have a mobile phone up top right and bottom left, I know mobile phones are big in UK but should be grouped together. I think maybe if you cut the logo out of the topic buttons (in the middle section) and made clearer buttons (the white text on red is hard to read)

wouldnt slinky be a trademarked name? http://www.slinkytoys.com/toys/history.asp

yep. I agree with everyone... Intro's are so unnecessary. People want to get in & get out... I know you prob'ly spent a lot of time making it, but... it brings the site down.
