Hi, I have made a few changes to the youwantittryhere.com site and I have now got ywith.com to acompany it.

Click Here to go to YWITH!

I would like some suggestions to fine tune it, oh yes, and I am still not 100% happy on the logo. Has anyone got any suggestions on how I may improve the logo.

Er you have a loopy problem!

When I opened the site I got the Easyspace popup and your intro popup which then spawned another one, and then another, and again, etc.... Now pop-ups are annoying at the best of the times so I think you may want to tweak your code a little there!

Why the splash page b4 going into the main site? I would have said its a little uneccessary but still....

The graphics you got going at the top are good, nice and clear but you may want to space them out a little.

The font on the main page would be better matching that under the graphics to give a little uniformity...

I do not like the assortment of coloured boxes containing your links. It looks way too confusing and made my eyeball bubble and burn after 2 mins... Laugh

I submitted my site OK but the cnfirmation is a little impersonal for my liking. Maybe have something along the lines Thanks for adding your site etc... instead of just confirming everything the user submitted. Perhaps even a follow up email? Plus you might want a link at the bottom to take the user back to your index page.

Oh hang on...I see now! Its a CGI Spy script. Not alot of customisation avaliable there then ! Sad

Overall its not bad but there is fair bit of tweaking that needs doing! Smiling

the redirect is annoying, happened before the whatever it was had loaded, but before it frooze IE.

the http://www.higherengineranking.com/ywith/main.htm? page doesnt freeze, its just the intro.

Have you tried spacing the tables apart some? add more white between them. Also have you tried less colors, its looking very busy with all those colors, at first i thought i was taken to a place holder page.

the "return home" link should be esier to find as well.

the internal pages are a lot better, white, less colors but still seems to be missing something but can't put my finger on it.

I agree with what's already been said, especially the font for the links in the coloured tables where you haven't specified a font they are displaying for me as TNR and they don't look good. You really should look to use a style sheet. You also have no title and in DW your coding has lots of errors.

OK, I'll have a go at changing the frontpage thing. I don't understand what you mean by the "When I opened the site I got the Easyspace popup and your intro popup which then spawned another one, and then another, and again, etc"

What is a intro popup? Can you elaborate more on this. Did anyone else find this problem where it spawned loads of pop-ups. There should only be one.

K this is what happening to me...

1) I click your link
2) The Easyspace banner pops up
3) The main page does its flah thang and and then opens a new window which it focuses on with the url http://www.higherengineranking.com/ywith/main.htm
4) Step 3 repeats indefinately.....

Its not me, it did the same on two different machines....

Ok, I'll have to fix that problem then. I've got the forum thing now as well by the way.

I'd get rid of the intro page. Intro's are for telling storys and your site is an information site.

First impressions of your site is that it is one of those sites that just blindly links you to whatever to get click through money.

There are a lot of good directorys out there and trying to compete with them is not a good idea I feel unless your doing something different. At the moment I can't see that you are. You need something else to set you appart. Maybe allowing users to comment on each link and having a rated directory or something...

Sorry but I am not a fan of portal sites. I can find any of these things on google, yahoo, etc. but anyway, here is my critique.

On your logo, move the word "here", ".(the dot") and the word "com" closer together.

Need more space in between your colored tables. (think that has already been mentioned.) And at the bottom where you have "HITS 100256".....un-color that cell. It looks fonky with that colored background.Wink

I think you need more color in the link images at the top. They look just a wee bit bland. Not a biggie...just an opinion.Smiling
