Made some streamline enhancements.
Let me know what you think.

http://www.refinanceloanrates.com

1. Is it easy to read?
2. content helpful?
3. eye tracking method effective?
4. choice of color effective?

-please take the time to explain your point thoroughly

If you want to see the old site design you'll have to find a cached page at google.

Thanks

Can you please review some of the others sites first please, as per the posting agreement. This will not only help others but helps you as well by gaining ideas and seeing what people do/don't like. Thanks!

ibcnet,

We are in the process of upgrading our forum systems here. Normally before you'd post a new thread you'll see a posting agreement which asks you to review some other sites and to put your site title in your subject line as Julia has done for you. Sorry about the inconvenience here, but we'd appreciate it if you could follow those two guidelines while we work on getting the agreement back up.

Thank you!

Well despite the above...I took a look at your site, and honestly I'm not a fan of the colors. All though green does make me think money...maybe it's just the shade?
Also, another thing to note is the links on the left - the reallly small all caps letters are little hard on the eyes, and kinda makes me think of adverts seeking attention (which tend to make me drift away from them..)
[edit]
and after looking at the links a little bit, they are in fact adverts...you have too many of those hidden in your site under false pretenses imo

I agree there is too much content on the page. Perhaps it is because of my being interested in refinancing that all the content seems so overwhelming.

As for the links along the left, why have multiple listings for all the same link (all the links under "Refinance Loan Center" took me to the same site.

In the middle, you have several links for "Apply for these rates", which made me think clicking on each one would apply for the rate to the left, however, every one took me to the same site as the menu on the left.

Just above this area, on the left, you have "Why Start Your Home...." which reasons below it. However the reasons to me seem like a chopped up paragraph instead of a list (like the list to the right of this). I feel the same about the links to each state on the right side.

There were great inconsistencies in the layout, such as use of styles to change text when you hover over them, table layouts, etc. Overall, if I were coming across your site, I would not consider it too professional. I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm just picky about how I feel about business sites.

As for the colors, the only area I had a problem with the colors was the links on the blue-green background on the left. With the size of the font the colors blend too much.

On a last note, the site requires horizontal scrolling when viewed at 800x600.

I hope that these ideas help you improve upon your site, and remember, they are just my opinion. Smiling

... as with most everyone I use financial websites frequently. Whether to track stocks or learn how to handle money I dont have O_O

I like that you are trying to make your financial site stand out through the use of ..umm...different colors..but please remove the teal green color scheme.

Also, remove the text from the homepage!! And for god sakes...if ur gonna have all that text take out the hyperlinks.

GOod luck!!
