the categories look good Confused

I would change the the IVP logo to yours, and I think you should get another skin

The color choice is very good. These colors do not fatigue the eye over a long period of time and this is crucial for a forum.

However, they are way too much categories.

Youre right, its the categories.

Im getting a new logo designed, the skin Ill worry about soon. I know it should be together, but the free ones ive seen aren't that good, and so need to get that designed as well.

Thank you for looking.

Elendi why do you think there are too many categories? My thinking is that this is the strength of the site, there isnt another one as comprehensive.

Thank you again for your input.

When starting a new forum it is always off putting to people when they see lots of categories with no postings, it looks like a new forum! If you keep the categories smaller to start off with and then build them up as the community grows that's a much better way of using it.

Thats quite a good idea. Let me think of what to do with them..

Anyway in the meantime I have a completely new design!

What do you think?

Hi again,

Ive pruned some topics, but I feel there is alot more that could be gotten rid off.

Im thinking about what else to remove but please let me know what you think so far.

I would like to add (in addition to the forum):

A news section
List estate agents around the UK (directory service)
Maybe a section for buying/selling houses privately.

What do you think?

To be honest I would just have one forum per topic (tenants, landlords, buying, selling, general chat, forum announcements) then as the forum grows you can split off into sub-sections. I would also put the forum annoucement section at the bottom. I'm not overly keen on the colour choice and the header graphic looks too blurry.

I'm currently in the process of buying/selling so from a personal point of view this is quite interesting and it would be a good idea to evolve this site into more than just a forum, with things like a directory of estate agents & their websites, mortgage companies, conveyancing solicitors, etc. You could also branch out into things like decorating, builders, interior design, etc and if you wanted to make some money from it there are plenty of affiliate schemes relevant to this type of product that you could advertise on the site.

Hey,

i like the color scheme, and categories seems to include everything that needs...
I think i would do something similar in my area...

I agree with the aove posters you seem to hit the spot with the colour tones. The header title in red seems a little out of place though with the rest of the site.

Great Job !

OK guys, the topics are pruned.

Ill split them out again when the need arises. Webmistress thank you very much for your comments, and everyone else of course Smiling

Im making some more changes soon, to make it a bit more usable with different sections, ill update you as soon as I do.

Thanks...
