REVIEW REQUEST: www.norito.civ.pl
It's my new website - what do You think about it?
For graphics - I know that norito's top isn't very good but the target was to stylize it at "retro" .

Looks good on 800*600 but with a fixed width, I'm not quite so sure what it would look like on higher resolution screens.
Try toning down the big white borders, make it smaller with a greyish colour so that is "blends" in with the background because right now, to me, it's directing my eyes away from the content.
Other than that, I like the site

It looks fine at 1152 x 768. I tend to agree about the borders - maybe try tinting them just a little bit. I like what you've done with the header text - neat idea to make it blend into the borders. What I don't like about this is the textured background. I don't know if you should try another texture or just leave it solid. Another thing I don't like is how the right side box ends halfway down - maybe you could extend that all the way and either leave the bottom part blank or move those buttons from the bottom to go underneath the nav.
I do really like what you've done with the header - it doesn't seem too simple to me at all - that photo is quite striking so the best thing is to let it stand on its own more or less.
Other than that, it's hard to really comment without knowing what the site is about.

That's becouse of that I don't wanted to make another "menu-text-menu" site - Norito is something diffrent and that is why i used fat borders and stripped background. Ok, ok - if borders are REALY awful I can change their colors.
I knew that . Norito is site about books - just click one of links.

I'm just questioning this particular texture for the background - it just doesn't look quite right to me. Try something different maybe?
This does seem very appropriate for a book site - that photo in the header is reminicent of a book cover.

Good job. No, great job. The colors are wonder, the graphics sophisticated.

The white links should either be underlined or maybe bold as they blend into much, then again the words could mention they are links, sorry don't speak the language.
The banner picture, is that from the book/movie "the birds" ?
I think I'm with Megan on the background on this one, seems more mechanical than retro. Mind you everyone has a different opinion what retro is and it proabably differs around the world, but to me retro is bold, colorful, out there, even in your face type style.

Very nice site - fast loading, clean and professional looking. I have to agree with the previous comment to lighten up those wide white borders though. One thing I would suggest is to make your banner a clickable link to your home page and to change the color of the word "norita" so it stands out a bit.
All in all you did an excellent job.

Hello gerer,
Call it "cognitive dissonance" but I really did not notice the intensity of the white borders until I started reading some of the other posts. I think they're fine. If you think they're too intense, you could just make them narrower by a few pixels.
I think the color scheme is very good and the logo and grainy black-and-white photo are very complementary. The colour scheme also makes the images of the books stand out. Download time was very good on my phoneline connection. The whole package comes across as very professional.
Best Regards,
- zoinks

Yeah, that would be great for people who don't understand
Go for it!
...I never noticed it before but, what's that little box down at the very bottom left of the site? Clicking on it leads to no where...
