I'm back again...

Re-designed my website, but not sure if I'm happy with it. I would love to hear suggestions or constructive critisism.

Thanks in advance!

Again? You've posted about 20 different yet equally nice designs for this site here! Seems to me that you just need to settle on one Smiling I don't like this as well as previous efforts at all. That burnt orange colour just doesn't seem to fit the site, although it could be because I've seen so many blue-ish variations in the past that I'm associating that colour with your name. Could be a factor to consider.

hey nicora

i liked your site. i have seen similar designs before but nevertheless i like it.

a few comments:
1) i think the two long boxes with a white one in-between see a bit too far from each other. i would cut almost in half.

2) try validating your html at http://validator.w3.org

3) i don't think this is the right synthax:

i believe it should be

I agree with Megan, some of the others have been better.

The name going down is hard to read as it's to much apart of the navigation, the pictures (top right) don't quite look right being cut off like that, looks like they havnet finished loading.

My biggest concern is the big empty space in right frame (scrolls to no where) to many 's for 800x600

looks nice but not your best work

Sorry but I have to agree with Megan & Busy on this one. This just does nothing for me and it's far too sparse! It is a nice change from the blue but it just doesn't seem to give enough impact for this type of design and why frames?

Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....

looks cool

I think flash is a bad idea though (some of your sites use it), since search engines don't index any of the flash content.

Thanks for all the comments, it's always refreshing to come back here and get good honest opinions.

Alright, I finally must agree also, the burnt orange just isn't working. I'm currently now putting together 3-4 unique looks in which I would like to post here again with the same hope in getting honest reviews.

I need to get away from blue though, my site has been every shade of blue under the sun.

Quote: This just does nothing for me and it's far too sparse!

-- I guess I'm just a white space junkie, and with this version I wanted to concetrate only on work samples (I'm a horrible editor) and my content is anything but interesting. I will try making more sense with my empty spaces.

Quote: try validating your html at http://validator.w3.org

-- The code is very sloppy, I agree, later versions will be done better.

-- I'm hoping to settle on 2 sites this time. You can see my current site here : www.nicora.com Then I want a portfolio site (In which I'm experimenting with now) at work.nicora.com.

-- Argreed, I rushed just to get something in the spots and took no time to really put some thought and effort to them. I sometimes tend to get content too easy, that's why I like to come here so that you guys can call me on it.

I should have the new look up and ready by tonight or maybe tomarrow night, I would appreciate getting your comments again, cheers all!

hey Joe - when I looked at this thread earlier, I couldn't figure out the comments regarding "white space" and "sparseness" - I use a 1024×768 resolution but with the active window at about an 800×600 size - when I maximize the window, I see all that white space to the right - would you want to center the content? - I'm thinking the limitation there might be the way yer menu opens up - if you could get those open.gif images off the left edge to stay with portfolio.gif and the others "onresize," it might help with the white space issue on the front page

you say

Quote: I wanted to concetrate only on work samples (I'm a horrible editor) and my content is anything but interesting.

when ya say "content" do you mean the text? - if ya do, I sure don't think it's "uninteresting" - I'd say it could be tightened up a little - comes across to mme as containing a lot of industry buzzwords, although for all I know that's what sells - if ya want, I could spend a few minutes trying to work on it - can't say it would be any improvement, hence mmy reluctance to do anything on it if yer not interested - I figure the writing here is what you want, and I don't want to invest any time if that's the case

I liked the orange. *shrugs*

The current one is easier to read though, so I guess that's important...lol
