Hi.

Please could i have some reviews from various members. I am considering getting rid of the green as it looks gastly but i would really appreciate and critics. The rollovers do work but are slow as i am yet to put in the js pre-loader in my head tags. Apart from that i can think of anything else to say. All help greatly apprecited. Your a good bunch on ere.

Not my favourite of the templates you had to choose from but it's still not bad. You've done a good job of putting it together. You might want to try doing a little something extra with the text links on either side just in case people confuse them with plain text. I'm not sure what would be the best idea here though. Definitely bold the headers.

A product photo or two would make a great addition to this page, just to make things look a little more interesting.

thanks for the review

So what do you think i should do with the left links? Also what about the green. I dont really like it, do you? what colour would you replace the green with if so? I have used the w3 HTML 4.01 validation and i always get errors. Like ALT tag not specified and other stupid things. I just want my code to be 100% as you will remember i am as fussy about the backend of the site as the looks and naviagtion. So what you rekon?

Thanks for the review

I got a JavaScript error on loading, line 2, char 1, syntax error

for alt tags, if you have nothing to put in them, just use empty ones alt="" (no space). don't use alt="image"

I agree the link colours should be a different colour to the text.
I'd take out the margin tags and just use default margins.
Green is my worst color but this layout looks pretty good, the green breaks it by giving it that boost while not going overboard.

the CSS your using, doesnt work in Opera (as opera6) is ok in Mozilla/NS
your counter is 00000 in NS7 and the word "click" is only "clic" on grey

The links on the left need some padding. They're hard up against the wall.

It's a little odd how the content in the third column is aligned center while the rest are left-aligned. Try aligning to left in that column too. See if it works... Wink

Overall, it's not bad. The template isn't the most appealing, but it's alright. Smiling

I don't think the green is that bad, you could try the links in a different colour and use that colour instead of the green, or try the links that green to tie in the colour more. I don't like counters, why tell people how few visitors you've had to the site??!! Are there going to be links along the top?

I don't particularly like that green either - it's not bad, but it's not wonderful either. You could try changing it to a purpley-blue, that might look good.

The pictures you've got on there now look really good Wink

Not sure if you have removed some of the "ghastly green" since your first post or not but what is there now (the green bar across the top) doesn't look bad at all IMO.

I think adding another color like a neon orange, red or blue would help liven it up a bit too. Just a touch of color though....not alot. Some color in the logo would be good. It should stand out more.

Your links need something...rollover maybe. I am sure you are working on that though. Overall, it looks fine to me. Nice start.

well first off, your page doesnt jump out as much as it should. it wont hold peoples attention.

do you really need that counter? most people i know just ignore those things and i think it makes the page look a little unprofessional. but thats just my oppionion of counters.

what are those buttons on the top going to be?

anyone can do any amount of work provided it isnt the work they are supposed to be doing.

Hi Peeps.

Thanks for the reviews. I hate counters, i have never used a counter on any of my pages. I just wanted to fill the gaps and give the page a bit of content. The pictures are not going to be used either but i will have pitcures there exactly the same shape and size just a different picture.

Right now i want to show you people a template that was pre-made for me. Would you buy it? Do you like it better than the design i have or whatever. I really appreciate all your opinions and always get plenty of help on here. Anyway, here is a link to the screenshot of the JPG image i have uploaded for you to see the pre-made template. Now what opinions you give will greatly influence whether i buy it or not ($50) so please be honest and again, thanks for the reviews so far.

You will need to maybe expand the image by clicking the box on the bottom right. It looks terrible if not expanded.

Thanks folks

That's a really nice looking template. It will be a little more complicated to implement, if you're still worried about that. If you don't mind spending the money it could be a good idea to switch. The other one is okay, but it's not nearly as intricate and professional looking as the screenshot you just posted.

I agree with Megan, if you can afford it then I would definitely go with that template, very nice indeed! With some nice mouseover colour changes on the links that would be a great site.

Yes, it works really well with your content, and the blue ties in well too.

It's also a little more dynamic and has a livelier appeal to it. Smiling

You have all been brilliant. Thank you for your help. I have bought the blue template and am working on it now and as megan said, i am finding it more complex to work with but i will keep trying.

Thanks

this one is ok, but does give a slight horz scroll at 800x600 I doubt you could loose even with 0 margins.
The bottom seems to be kind of naked, at least a yellow line for copyright or something would just end it nicely.
wasn't to bad load time, but could be different with content.

I thought you were going with that blue one?? This one is ok but IMO quite dull. I agree with Busy that the bottom needs to be finished off with something and it could look better with content but I think that blue one was perfect for your sites content.

I just find it a bit graphic intensive and slow loading for the dial-up users so i want a fast loading page. Dont you like the yellow? The blue template i bought i will probably use on my other site. I dont know why you all like it so much. I must have a weird taste. You see the blue template to me is too much blue really. I dunno, you lot have confused me with yer opinions. All well appreciated and as always plenty of support on here. I sent an identical post on the "other" webmaster forum and no replies. Just speaks for itself.

I will remove the other forum from my fav.

Thanks peeps

The blue template is very bluey, but I think it's really an appropriate design for the content (cooling, right?). Smiling

I don't think we're in direct competition against one another, so don't be too hasty. Who knows? They might have something to offer in some other aspect of webmastering. Wink
