Review request Win a Site
Hello everyone!
I'm glad to see everything's back to normal after your evil server problem (shudder).
I would like to ask for your help.
I am trying to put my portfolio of site designs together for a contest. I am not sure though if the layers are showing up properly on everyone's machine. I'm still using a very outdated 13 inch monitor so it's hard for me to get layers adjusted correctly sometimes.
btw: If anyone has any suggestions for better text link colors, I'd appreciate that as well!

I have tried it at various different resolutions in IE & NS and all seems to be working fine. Hmmm, link colours, don't like the red on hover very much, maybe more of a pinky colour to tie in the 'win a website' bit???

It looks ok, on my PC (IE6) but personally i'm not a big fan of layers in websites. (just a personal opinion, feel free to ignore me! )

Thanks so much for looking at it for me Webmistress and andy206uk.
Getting layers to line up shouldn't be that complicated a thing, but I've had enough problems with it in the past, I just wanted to make sure everyone was seeing the same thing.
I am not a fan of layers either (I avoid them whenever possible), I just didn't know any other way to do what I have it doing.
Thanks again!
All comments are much appreciated!

Looks fine to me. Except the text that is next to the rollover images is a little to close to the images IMO. Can you add some padding?

The layers seem fine but a few other bits I noticed.
I get a slightly different look in IE than NS, NS is nice and neat but IE is spread out (side links), the Special Purpose links in IE at 800x600 i'm unable to see the top of the images, where NS all fits nicely.
the links (top right) also have a purple shadow under the first line in NS 4.7 and 6.

Thanks again for your comments everyone!
I finally got a chance to go back to these pages again.
I think I solved the text padding problem (I hope), but I'm unsure of what exactly the problem is with IE. (I work on a very tiny screen and don't get to see the large screen problems)
Could someone be a sweetheart and let me see a screenshot of the problem.
As far as the shadow under the top links.... Aaaarggg!
It's still not gone? I'll see if I can figure out why in the world it is doing that.
Thanks again!
I appreciate all the help.
btw: I just finished a very cool redesign of a website I made for another artist. I'll probably ask for a critique of it very soon...
Although, I'm probably overdue to do some critiques myself first.

i think you could improve by making the text on teh other side of the vertical line aligning to the left about 10 pixels after the line.
