REVIEW REQUEST: WebMe.se
Hi,
Below is the link to our Swedish web hosting site. What do you guys think? The site is about 98% complete (just need to finish the contact form, the tos and add categories/questions to the faq).
Thank you.
PS. The site is in Swedish

It looks like a web hosting website even though I can't read it. I like the colours you have used but I think that the header/logo part is too big as it takes up over half the screen at 800*600.

A couple of points. Web hosting can sometimes be a little competitive. If you can't explain what makes your site unique you can at least go into two areas: 1)Technical Performance 2)Service (business) Performance
Technical details include: Is it a drive farm, or can I run things which stress resources like forums without worry? How do you decide on performance, and how do I know the status of that performance?? ...Tech fundamentalism or Agnostics? In other words, are you objective in your advice, with a mix of systems to back it up?
Service details include: Your potential customers may want to set up a special e-mail box for a promotion or contest. A few quick entries in an HTML page or a table of valid email accounts should be all you need, but if the host's tech-staff is slow to react, my ability to respond to opportunity is limited. Also, I would want to know how likely you are to yank a site. Some hosts will yank a site if there is a complaint, without questioning the validity or nature of the complaint. What's your decision making process for cancellation?
There are a lot of Web hosts. There are some criterion for choosing a Web host. It makes sense to establish why someone should choose you.

Thank you both for your reviews.
Julia,
I'm aware about that - That is why if you look at the other pages I have made it header a lot smaller. Anyways, I'm too lazy to change it now
D856C,
We have been in the webhosting business for a few years and now we've decided to go for the Swedish market (which we already have tons of customers in). To answer some of your questions, all our servers are at least P4 2GHz with 1GB RAM and we upgrade whenever necessary. We do not overload our servers and if we notice a customer using too much resources we talk to them about it and work for a solution. Before our move a couple of months ago our servers had an uptime of about 160 days. About yanking sites, we do not shut down sites just because we feel like it. We always contact our customers and discuss the issue with them. It would take a lot for us to take a site offline without notice (i.e. extreme SPAM:ing).
I'm not really sure if you reviewed our website or what but if you have any questions or if there's anything on your mind then don't hesitate to PM/email me.
Thank you.

Since I don't speak the language, I guess I'll just say that I think your site looks great. I like the color palette, and the graphics work well with the site. (I had fun just rolling over the arrows.) Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

The site looks a bit generic, many sites have that style. You might wanna be creative and make something that is unique, so that visitors are not bored by it.

To me it seems a little displaced, the icon and a couple of links are above the big banner which makes it feel really big and bloated, also the pic of the racks? are very hard to make out what they are.
I like your litle arrows on the main page lol
I to can't read the text so am unsure if you have a 'to the top' link, if not you need one on some pages as they are pretty long with 800x600
I suppose every culture reacts differently to different things, but to me the colours you've used are to violent (banner colours - red, orange black), its ok in the index but other pages it crys out 'warning danger ahead' others like it so ignore me

I like it, even though I can't read it. It does resemble a lot of hosting templates I've seen before. It has that same layout, but I still like it. The colors work well together, the navigation is easy to use (I used the status bar to make out which was which ).
I liked your use of different shades in the table cells. Makes for easy reading.
It loaded very fast for me on my *rubbish* 56k connection.
Job well done imo

Thank you all for taking time and reviewing our site...
KAC,
All opinions are helpful. Espeially positive ones, LOL
o2pb,
I know it's generic, that was the idea from the begining. The reason we chose this type of design is because we are targetting the Swedish market and here it's not as "common" as in US. It's a practical design and we think it might work here (for now anyways).
Busy,
We need to get you a new and better monitor
KeithMcL,
Yepp, the backend is English so the non-Swedish speaking people can navigate via the statusbar. About the speed, the images are optimized and the datacenter extremely fast, so it better load fast
Again, thank you all for reviewing the site. We will keep all your comments/suggestions in mind and work to improve the site. If you have more comments, keep em coming.
Cheers.

I don't know. It looks good I suppose but it is screaming, "I'm angry" for some reason. Maybe it is the colors.
Love the arrows...how they move on mouseover. Cute!
Yep, I think it is the colors that blow it for me and I belive that the part that bothers me the most is the black nav bar below the header and the red under it.
What font did you use for the 29kr, 49ke and 119kr? I like that.

I will have to check the font name for you tomorrow at work. I don't have the .PSD files here at home.

Firstly, I like to say the vertical scan lines for the background are a good change from the cliche horizontal ones
I love the rollovers, I think I must have spent 15 mins playing with them before actually reviewing the site
Is that spider the logo? if it is, I think it should be made more obvious and the picture of the server(s) less, infact, is there a need for that orange strip to be that big? Maybe try swapping it with the strip just before it (i.e. the one with the logo)
Not that it's important, but you can't really see the date on the site, maybe remove it or make it more obvious.
So far, it looks cool

I think the website looks great although it has the same style as many other websites. The orange pops out too much. The rollovers
are great they attract interest.

I've redesigned the site a bit, added a little softer touch to it.

The only thing I'm finding with it is that the orange section with the slight gradient is blocky rather than a smooth gradient becuase it's a gif

Hmm, It's smooth to me... Maybe it's because I'm using a high screen resolution, what screen resolution are you using?

Good layout, I think the color scheme could be a little bit lighter though.
Navigation is also quite excellent.
