OK, this is the "orange one" I've been warning about.

I'm not quite finished. Still waiting on a little content and have some cleaning up to do here and there. But overall?

Thanks once again.

Oh, if you're curious as to where the colours came from:

Not too bad... a little too orangey for my tastes but what can you do.... have you tried using a white background rather than that pale orange colour? Can you do anything about that logo text? Seems rather dull. Maybe integrate it better with the silhouettes?

I'm also not really keen on the way the menu expands like that from page to page. Maybe it wold be better to use a horizontal sub-nav rather than adding it on to the left side menu. You could put that in the orange bar underneath the logo. I also feel that the navbar is a little too low-contrast; the text doesn't stand out enough.

Once again I'm noticing some alignment problems. Take this page for example:

http://www.sitesunseen.com/clients/wecan/wecan2about.html

The contrast between the left alignment at the top and the centering at the botom isn't working too well IMHO. Not sure how best to fix that though.

Is there a reason for that old fashioned photo on the front page? Maybe something more modern would be better - something from one of their actual activities maybe.

Can you put the links on that first page in a table with an orange background? They look a little lonesome standing squarely out there by themselves as the page background loads.

I really don't have any thing else to comment on. I think Meg touched on most of it. I do think that with a white background it would make the orange bar on the left look too bight. I say keep the pale oragne background.

Very nice, neat little site and I quite like the orange and the way you have mixed the colors.

A few things I found. The first page loads quite slowly and the menu buttons appear first which looks a little out of place. Perhaps put a orange background in that table so that they don't look out of place when the page is loading. Also, try and get the first page to load a bit quicker.

on the wecan2 kids page, I would place the picture in the centre or align it differently as the page doesn't look balanced to me, but that may just be me.

Apart from that, it looks very nice. I look the menu button mouseovers.

Thanks guys - good point about an orange backdrop for the main page nav. To be honest, most of the splash is adobe-generated at the moment. I just added in that photo and haven't had a chance to tinker with the code, check filesizes, etc.

The WeCan2 Kids page doesn't have it's content yet. I actually just threw the picture up so I'd remember where it belongs later. Hopefully fleshing out the page will solve the alignment issues mentioned by Megan.

Megan: I think they're awfully fond of that "old fashioned photo". Had I seen it before today, I might have taken a different approach to the site - softer edges, etc.

Disaster is right on the money regarding a white background. I tried it and the contrast was glaring. It looked even more orange, if such a thing is possible Laughing out loud

Good overall. Just a few things that I don't particularly like. The main dislike is the glow or shadow in your links. It looks good when you roll it over but not so good when it is just there. Everything else on this first look looks quite professional.

thought about turning the glow on the mouseover links around, dark as normal, faded on mouseover?
I like the old fashioned photo, gives it that personal look/feel

at the bottom of the page (the link), you have:
About Us • WeCan Parents • WeCan2 <- notice the space before • WeCan2

thought about adding a picture behind the people cut out?

Good eye! Thanks.

No. Interesting idea and would add some vibrancy. I've got a pretty small pool of material to work with here though - I'll play with that one.

I think everything has been said really, but I just wanted to add that it's nice to see colour being used and orange must be the in colour at the moment Wink

Hey I like it.

Clean, not too much information... well done!

If I were to nitpick, I'd make the opening page consistent with the others (same layout). I'm a big fan of consistency, but this one seems to do it well.

I personally think orange is a bit bright, but that's too late now. I like it.

I don't know if people have already mentioned these points as I like to look myself at the site and not be made biased by other peoples opinions.

As far as loading time goes here its pretty good, but I am currently using a T1 connection.

The frontpage seems a bit of a pointless exercise. It is just an extra link to click. It should start with the wecan.cc page instead of the http://www.sitesunseen.com/clients/wecan/ page. Alternatively on the frontpage you could have more about what you actually do or sort of like clients comments or something like that. That way people already feel confident with you before you start telling them what you want to do.

You could make the about us the first page possibly.

In conclusion, keep up the good work.

Colours don't seem to bad and I have no objections with them. Layout is OK.

ywith,

The "extra frontpage" is because this is an old thread - the site has been moved already and what you're seeing is a redirect. Thanks for the feedback anyway though.

moderators,

Is there a way for the thread creator to close his own thread?

No don't think so taff. I supposed if you want it closed we could close it for you.

Awesome, very professional. I hope the client likes the color.

I like a site that catches me on the first page and helps me to slow down for a look.

Maybe that splash page could use some enlargement or something. Got Flash?

The site is designed well. It's clean, professional and appropriate to the content it displays. Keep up the good work.
