What I need critiqued/reviewed.
http://www.wackythings.com

Let me know if I accomplished my goals.

1. Is it "incentivey" enough? i.e. If you were a typical surfer would you understand how to navigate to get free stuff?

2. How's the design? Does the color scheme fit the site well?

3. Content? Enough? Originally I was just going to make it an incentive site but I thought I needed alittle extra (funny pics, movies, etc) - this part is just underway so bare w/ me there. You can find that stuff under HOME.

4. The reason I made the index page not the home page is because my main goal for teh site was to get people to get free stuff rather than give them free jokes, etc (that is just a bonus). How do you feel about that?

that's enough for now!

All comments appreciated!http://www.wackythings.com

Welcome to TWF,

I have moved this to the Critique section. Can you please review some of the others sites in this section, as we ask in the posting agreement you wouldn't have seen.

Cheers

I really like your website. What I really like is the navigation buttons... they are clear... im trying to get mine like that. You're are certainly enticing and make me want to click a little.

I would post a privacy policy since you ask for e-mail to receive your gift. Without it may give impression that you are collecting e-mail addresses for spam.

shame it's Continental U.S. only, I could have fun with a lot of that stuff Laughing out loud, although some of it I have never heard of. fart bomb bags?

I like the layout, nice clean colourful and easy to use but the down side of the way it looks is it kind of looks like one of those pop ups you get everynow and then.
I think you need to add the last Q&A on your faq page to your sign up page (who can use it).
it does sound to good to be true, but we arent here for that, you also need to state who can sign up for your affiliate program - if it's open to any country and payment options if is.
as for the index/home thing, I don't thin kit's important, people coming from searches etc could come to any page and probably wouldnt see the index, the navigation is clear so most wouldn't go back 'home' after moving from the index (if that makes sense) but clicking freestuff page from a page then going to home to make sure you have the right page could be confusing.
one thing that disappointed me, on the index page it showed what looked like a blow up flamed chair (pool chair maybe), clicked the link but it wasn't there and couldn't find it on the site

I think you have done a good job here and don't really have much to add to what Busy said. One thing though was the actual logo, it's ok as it is now but how about trying it in a wacky font?

I actually had a "wacky" font but those are harder to ready so I figured a little jumbled text might be bold and still work.

The colour scheme suits the image of the site, however parts of it also look like some dodgy promotion. I couldn't make my mind up whether you're offering retail/wholesale deals on these items, or if it's some sort of affiliate scam, especially with the free $500 offer! You could do to make it clearer what your site's main function is.

It looks like some of your button images don't load (the blue and white ones). You could do to make these clickable as the natural reaction is to try them.

If you click on the free cash tab the page changes but the tab stays on free stuff.

Hope that helps.Wink

Three of the blue circle button with the arrow are not showing up for me. (under "4 ways to get free stuff")

Yes, I would click the "free stuff" button. Wink

On the about page, there are several typos for the word gift. You have it spelled guft.

I suppose there is enough content. But if I were a "user" of your site the first thing I would want to know if how can you afford to give away things? Most people aren't rolling in money to be able to do this which makes me think there is an alterior motive. Sorry but I am very leary of things such as this. I guess there is a market out there though.

The home page should be the home page. If someone can't find the "free stuff" page then they are probably too ignorant to even sign up for anything. Laughing out loud

IMO, I think you should add some text to the home page explaining a little about the site. Maybe something like;

"Welcome to Wackythings.com. We are a blah, blah, blah. We offer this and that and that. You can find this and this and this here. etc. Sign up today for your free whatever."

You could also add some text links at the bottom of the page:
Home | Free Stuff | Free Cash | Shipping/Payment | Link | Link ...

Where are the typos? I only found one for gift (guft)?

I ran the text from that page through microsoft word after I found the guft mistake so it may have just repeated the error if I didn't correct it.

It's always a good idea to run your text through a spell check. I know, because I am the worlds worst at typos. Smiling

Navigation is simple, colors are attractive, graphics all look great.
You've done a great job!
But who would want any of that stuff?

hehe I found a place here in NZ that has the blow up flame chair (same as on products page) so I brought it to add to my collection of flamed things - so I guess people like me would buy that stuff Laughing out loud

Its a nice site but i read a couple of other post that sugested a wacky or strange fontto go with the name. But ........ I think u should add a java script to the logo to make it dance or maybe the word wackystuff following the mouse courser around the screen. That would be wacky lol
But nice site I like the colors , they work good together and the layout is simple to move through

Smiling
