Hi stephen,

The feedback i'm going to give you is meant to be constructive.

- The overall looks of your site is not very appealing when i look at it from a 'design' point of view. Not that it has to be flashy or something ... but its a bit to 'common'. You could try to make a "graphicly' more attractive header and menu? People (new customers) are more willing to use a website to buy something (like in your catalogue) when they are appealed by the overal looks.

- The site is easy to read on different screen resolutions, and i do understand immediately what the site is about.

- When i click on the catalogue link a popup windows opens -> wouldn't it be beter if you open it in the same browser window?
In the pop up window i have to sroll horizontaly -> it would be beter if i have only to scroll verticaly

greetz,
pi.

I found the site a tad plain, but it is quite clear what you sell Smiling I kind of feel like the text is a bit small for my bad eyes, but overall it is clear (layout).

The site definitly lets you know what is being sold, it is a bit plain, but I don't suppose people shopping for Energy Saving Lamps care about design and graphics, just the facts and easy navigation.

Also, I would think about scrapping the title image at the top and replacing it with HTML H1 text for a better search engine ranking, or at least put an alt tag on it.

just my 2cents!

I agree also that the page is a bit plain, but that's probably one reason why I got a load time of less than 8 seconds on 28.8k . . . a good thing. Smiling

You might want to put just a little more white space between the images on the home page in order to cut down on the large area of white space in the lower right part of the page. It also looks as though the black (or dark) letters on the home page (main text) MIGHT be a bit small, but I could read them well.

As for the window that opened when clicking on "catalogue," it opened for me, but there was nothing on it but a dark grayish-looking box with no text, pictures, or anything (probably due to my browser). It would seem that the others must have seen something when the window opened, though (none of them said they didn't see anything).

The yellow background behind your page title makes me think something like yellow=light, but I'm afraid the red, white, black, blue, and yellow just don't mix well (I think the red and blue (or perhaps just the red) might be the main problems. See, the red sort of over-powers the header with the yellow background, so maybe a smaller font size on the red text (and maybe a less-loud color) would help with that.

All in all, it seems that one definitely knows what the site has to do with as soon as it loads, and it seems to get right to the point, which are both good things. Smiling
