Firstly welcome to TWF and thank you for reviewing some of the others sites.

Now on to yours - I would strongly suggest getting a proper domain name rather than using the free one from your isp, then people will take the site more seriously.

The site really just does absolutely nothing for me. Sorry to sound harsh but it really doesn't look too professional at all. The 'add to favourites' button stuck at the top looks so out of place it stands out like a sore thumb - if you have to have it put it at the bottom, most people know how to add something to their favourites any way.

At 800*600 (still the most common screen resolution here) there is a massive scrollbar - you need to sort this out.

The column down the left side should really be used for your navigation not to tell people to use the flash cube to navigate the site. If you have to tell people how to use the site then you have failed in your design and I don't think the flash is that well done. What if someone has flash disabled or not even downloaded, you can't assume that people will have flash and also the SEs wont be able to crawl the site.

Just another couple of points:
- don't have your links going bold on hover
- don't have the 'webmaster looking for work' link it just looks bad
- use CSS for all your styling, get rid of your font tags

Nothing to see...Flash has been disabled on my broweser, but what ever it is, could it not be done with plain (X)HTML?

...in fact, there isn't anything to critique. All there is, is a bunch of ads :S

I am just learning to develop web pages, and not really qualified to critique somebody elses work - but here is my opinion based on just a visual impression.

The Cube Flash in the middle is really cool, but almost looks like it was added after the fact. It doesn't seem to "fit" with the rest of the page. I know it does match the bar down the left, but it looks out of place on the top and right. I suggest another method of navigation.

I really like your top of page banner/flash. It caught my attention really quick.

Don't think of it as poor design, it isn't! I have seen much, much worse for a first attempt - you should have seen mine Wink

It's all about learning and developing your skills and the best way to do that is to ask for reviews, change things, ask for another review, etc. Also ask relatives & friends to have a look as they will give you different feedback to us designers.

nice cube design and music. however, the site is a little confusing. advertisements seem to be mixed in with the content on the left. the page looks like it has scattered content. maybe you could extend the table farther up on the right, as is done on the left. as for the flash, it's excellent. very easy to use and see, and to scroll through.
cool site.

Hey love the flash element but I say ditch the rest of the stuff on that page and make an opening page for people to select the flash site or normal html site. One annoying thing was that beeping it made when my mouse went over the cube such a hard sound.

Luckily we now have a wide range of Emoticons so I can better express what Opera did when it loaded your site: :explode:

Could someone else with Opera have a look at this and tell me whether this was a one-off and my Flash install is knackered, or whether Opera just doesn't like the Flash on this site...

Cheers,
Liam.

Nope Opera doesn't like this site at all. No flash showing and the text is all over the place!

Heh, well Webmistress it appears you haven't got the latest version of Opera...If you upgrade to the latest version it'll display the flash for a couple of seconds then crash - Don't you just love progress Laughing out loud
