I don't really know how to start here. I'm personally not a big fan of black, but I'm sure your audience will enjoy it. YOu might want to try spicing it up with a little more colour. I am getting a big horizontal scrollbar at 800x600, and it would also be a good idea to reduce some of the vertical scrolling on pages. I really don't like a lot of scrolling, do you? I've had problems with sore wrists so too much scrolling tends to bother me. Also rethink the colours you've chosen for the scrollbar - it's pretty hard to distinguish the scrollbar from the page since both have black backgrounds.

I also wanted to mention your graphics. Which program are you using to create them? You should really learn how to use anti-aliasing. See how your text has kind of jaggedy edges in the logo there? Anti-aliasing will smooth that out nicely. Also look around for a more interesting font to use there.

I do like what you've done with the little numbers behind the text headings there - it does a good job of giving the page some depth.

As I navigate the site here I'm thinking that you really ought to work on the consistency of your layout. Some of the pages open in a new window, others don't. Some of them don't have the left navigation bar, while the some actually repeat the whole navigation menu in the middle of the page.

First of all, a special thanks to you for joining my website and its forums, I greatly appreciate it! Smiling I am looking forward to talking with you!

Now, about your website I like what you have done with it, and for one, it has a lot of great information! And a ton of it by the way. If I may make some suggestions, I would strongly recommend that you could possibly "lighten up" the website with some brighter colors, but keep the original feel. If you could, find some graphics that are real, designs for backgrounds or bars, excellent effects for titles, etc. If you are unable to do this, I suggest, just for once, to lighten up the website. I think that your website has such great information that it deserves the attention of brightness and an "easy read."

I noticed on the front page the page scrolls over to the right considerably. This should probably be fixed, and it would make it much more easier to navigate. As another suggestion, make sure you keep your navigation unified and the same on each page, with a distinct top, right, or left bar for buttons.

Other than that, great work! And keep it up!

I too am not very keen at all on dark websites, especially ones with lots of text as it just hurts the eyes trying to read it. You should also get away from FrontPage!!

The hortizonatl scrollbar appears to be because of a table you have nested which is set at 108%

I get a big horz scroll bar at 800x600

I like black backgrounds but in this case I don't think it suits it, maybe a grey since your theme is along the computer code look.

What is the date top right? is it meant to be todays date or the last time you updated it? it shows 11/08/02 but today for me is 11/10/02

As mentioned, get rid of frontpage, since your content is minimal is some places am guessing its the bad coding that FP does that is making your site load real slow

You have a javascript error on the affiliates page as well- line 182 char 171 error: undetermined string constant

Loaded Slow on high speed connection...

Graphics are average and the layout is pretty easy to navigate....remove the popup window on the "about me" link...opening a new window only annoys the surfer.

Not sure what a grade 8 student is doing with so much info on affliate money making...shouldn't you be making a yu-gi-oh site or something?

Wow...cool! In the 8th grade. Gee what I would give to be that young again. Wink

Check the links in your navigation on each page. A few of them are opening a new window. For example: on the games page, when you click the home link and photo gallery link it opens a new window. i didn't check each page.

I am not crazy about the background but that is a personal preference.

I think you have organized the site well.
Nice job!

I like that background, actually. Smiling

Except for where the content text is directly on top of it, and the pattern interferes with ease of reading. How about maybe putting the text in flat bg boxes, or better, maked the binaries fade into a flat colour column region (the body text area) and then fade back to the same pattern...?

Otherwise, I think the site is ok. Better work from an eighth-grader than my work was when I was in the tenth-grade. Smiling

To the best of my knowledge, yes.

Year 8/form 2 == grade 8. Wink

I get confused with it now as well. In my day (long time ago!) you were in the year of which ever school you were in, infants 1-2, junior 1-4, secondary school 1-6, 6th form college 1-2, now it appears to go straight through and it's very confusing! Probably different country to country though.

yeah i agree with desaster master when i say it's annoying when a new page opens up when i click on some of the things in the nav bar, i.e the links page.

other than that, i like what u've done with the site, personally i like sites with a dark background occationally, but it can get to a point where the light background it easier on the eyes Smiling

Oh, that's a very good reason! LOL
It is better at not bloating code quite so much as FP but be careful with the DW javascript as I get told over & over that it's way over bloated Wink

Personally *cough* I coded in Notepad for *cough* two years before getting *cough cough* Dreamweaver. But *cough, spit and sputter* I am sure glad that I stumbled on Dreamweaver. It makes life much more simplier.

However, Using notepad forced me to learn things that I probably wouldn't have learned as fast had I started with DW. DW would have spoiled me. But on the other hand.....Dreamweaver has helped me to understand the things that I couldn't quiet grasp in Notepad as a new HTML'er.
