The top section is empty, you have a lot of 'content' on the main section and nothing up top, I don't know, maybe just loose a bit of the height (empty space) up there.

** just woken up so forgive me if I don't make sense just yet **

The font is pretty small but is readable, the links on the other hand need to be changed. The bottom link line is the same as the text colour, the inline lines are blue but so are your table headings - date on latest news and also in the start up offer.
Looks very clean and professional but your links let it down, it's to early in the afternoon (yeah had a late one) to go looking for whats a link and what isn't.

You might want to put a little space between the "Welcome to the home ...." and the line below it "All web design firms ..."

I like your site... easy to get around.

My only comment would be that I personally don't like
sites that look like they've used a "template". This is
just a personal preference because I hate generic
navigation buttons and graphics.

The colors are out of wack in my opinion, you have that really nice red and gray scheme for your logo, and you scroll down and the site just goes to plain blue. You might want to change the blue gradients to red ones.

A couple of quick things:

  • That logo is too much. The one thing that great logos have in common is that they are simple. You're trying to convey too much information in a direct manner here. Take the body out and you might be better off.
  • Font size. Do I have to say it again??? Too tiny.
  • One of my biggest pet peeves about online businesses is when they don't say who they are. They use the company name alone and never name who is behind it, even in the "about the company" section. Makes me think you're hiding something.

Sorry to be so negative Smiling Overall the design is nice. I like the way the bright logo stands out from the otherwise netural design.

Fair points made...

I did consider doing a bio in the our company section but there is only me! I do a lot of outsourcing and have quite a few freelancers on the books but I can't say they work directly for me...

Don't you think this may put people off?

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with being honest about who you are. If it were me I would be straight about being a one-woman operation. As a client I'd want to know exactly who I was dealing with (and I've had problems with people who aren't straightfoward about that so, personally, I'm wary). The people you're dealing with may be really uncertain about signing up for something like this sight unseen. Being clear about who you are may put their minds at ease.

On the other hand, you're competing against people who are pretending to be large organizations (when they're not). They all make an effort to sound more impressive than they are. It's pretty easy to see through once you know what to look for. But, maybe that works, I don't know.

It's up to you as to how you want to handle that. My personal opinion is that it's dishonest and unethical to present yourself as something you're not.

You could say something about how OpenMindMedia was founded by Phil and supported by a variety of other people (don't need details on that). Then go into some details about who Phil is and what his background is etc.

I notice that you do have an address and phone number on here. That's another thing that makes me suspicious (I mean, when real-world communication methods are nowhere to be found...)

the only thing that i dont like is that i think the logo should be smaller, and should be centered at the top of the page, not on the left. other than that this site is beautiful. i love the colors!!

I like you design a lot, its aesthetically pleasing and well organized.

I don’t love the content on the front page it’s a little awkward, I am also a web designer and I do not believe all designers all the same!

Your logo is pretty creative, but there’s too much dead space IMO at the top.

Hi, firstly i like your design, i like the rounded box look and you've got it going off with the fade at the top of each box. I do agree with Taylor and a few other posts that there is too much white space at the top, but i understand the difficulty in the need to incorporate the logo.

I tested the site with IE6, Opera and Mozila and all seems to be ok in 1024x768 and 800x600. One thing tho, maybe its a bit late to ask for site comments when you have already uploaded it.

FYI - Increasing the font size (so I can read it) in Firefox breaks the text out of some containers
