Hey guys,

I've developed this site with a bunch of freinds. I've done the whole site with css and xhtml and I think pretty much all of it validates ok. I just really want your opinions on the layout, look and feel and any display errors you get.

The site is http://www.na5ty.com

It used to contain quite a bit of profanity, but we've toned it down by using a swearword filter. I must warn you all though, while the site itself is clean, some of the sites it links to are not.

ta!

The only thing that does not validate is your & in the URLs and text. Using & should straighten that out though. Looks like the rest is all good. I love when pages load fast Laughing out loud

ooops... thats the swearing validator not urls I think. We only added that today! I'm on it now though. ta!

EDIT - actually... it was a URL. my bad. Guess I'm gonna have to ensure the admin dudes remember to url encode and & symbols.

Looks good, green bars are a bit dark, but it's not too big a problem.

I think it looks very good, navigation is simple and things are very readable. It is one of the web layouts I enjoy the most.

I have to say that I'm disappointed with the 3-column layout. Looks very dull in comparison to the fresh and unique content you have. I think the whole na5ty motif is very catchy and fun. It doesn't appeal to me personally but I'm sure it will appeal to your target audience. Same goes for the colour scheme - not my taste, but your audience will like it.

In my browser the ad at the top if covering up most of the right side header graphic. I'm not sure if you intended that or not but it would be nice to see more of what's under there.

Not much else to say. I would like to see more creativity in the layout. The idea is good, the logo and site title are good, the colour scheme is appropriate. That aspect is very well done. The layout is just so tired and over-used. You've got a unique personality coming through in the site and I think that it would be even better with a creative layout to match.

The browser is supposed to float in the top right hand corner. Simply because thats kinda where people expect banners to be. Just for you... here's the graphic that sits behind it : http://www.na5ty.com/layout/deadman.gif

We've gone with the simple layout to start with simply because we're still not completly sure what features we're going to add. Once we have the actual html structure finalised then I'm going to go to town with the CSS and see if I can make it a bit better. We have plans to make alternate stylesheets availble to members, so that If they don't like black backgrounds they can use a different colour scheme if they so wish.

I'm kinda frustrated about the layout aspect at the moment, because I have so many elements for the menu's its difficult to go with anything other than the typical three column layout.

I was thinking about trying something a bit similar to theregister.co.uk but I'm not sure if it will fit completly. Any suggestions?

In higher resolutions you should be able to move it to the left so that graphic isn't comletely covered up. I've got a lot of empty black space to the right of the logo, and then the graphic is covered up. I think the banner should try to fill that black space if it can.

Glad you like it... We've only been going for a week. We'll update the site as and when we find new content.

You mean load a different stylesheet for higher resolutions?

I think I might loose the top banner alltogether and add some tabbed style navigation for the different sections of the site. (ie, the categories) and then just have the google ads on the right hand side.
