Overall this looks pretty good but you've got a lot of little problems that need fixing up.

  1. Clean up your fonts, especially in the header area. You're using way to many font families here - stick to one decorative font plus a basic sans serif. At least do all of "The Mental Tim" in the same font. I like the "by the fans, for the fans" font but the others don't seem to be particularly appropriate for this site.
  2. Why is the navbar faded out like that? it looks really out of place.
  3. Spacing needs work in places - there should be more padding in certain areas of your table. For example, the "navigation" heading on the left is too close to the table edge, as is the "latest news" heading in the content area. You can use CSS to selectively add padding to table cells.
  4. Something's wrong with your link styles - in Opera the hover colour on the left navbar is the same as the background colour.
  5. Right side navbar should be aligned left so the headers line up with the little graphic score thingies.
  6. That big "visit our forums" graphic is really breaking up the flow of the front page. What I would do is dump the chat box on the left side and put a forum there instead. That way you'll be able to bump the "last match" header up further where people will be more likely to see it. Either that or make the forum ad more of a horizontal banner shape so it doesn't take up so much vertical space.
  7. Otherwise a pretty nice looking site. You've done a good job with the header graphic and colour scheme. Nice look and feel.

ok cheers.
My CSS is messed up. I actually wanted the left links to be white, but they never showed up, so i had to stick to black, and the hiver colour should be gold.

Ill change the fonts in the banner, and take on board the suggested changes. My CSS knowledge is pretty poor, so i dont no what you aretalking abiut with the selective padding.

Look around in the Web Authoring forum, I"m sure that's been talked about before. If you can't find it just ask - someone will help you out there.

Visit Our Celtic Fourms?

Don't you just hate finding a typo in a finished graphic! Wink

I find the navigation buttons a little washed out and found myself expecting some sort of rollover effect.

I agree with Megan on the fonts - far too many and not a Celtic theme in the lot.

Speaking of "Celtic themes", I find the green/white/orange a little "in your face". I would suggest being a little more subtle with the colour scheme.

Cheers.

I don't think he was suggesting that you change the colours - just change how you've used them. The large blocks of green are a little bit overpowering.

is the background meant to be white? if so you need to set the background colour
