Firstly thanks for reviewing some of the others sites and welcome to TWF
I quite like the look of the site, nice and colourful without being in your face but the header/logo text is hairy and there is a horizontal scrollbar at 800*600.
I'd move the header right to the top to give the actual content a bit more space as the header section right now takes up nearly half the available space at 800*600. Hmmm, at larger resolutions the header looks cut off. Unless you can make it stretch I'd make the page a fixed width for all elements and create some kind of border to it all to make it look finished at the larger resolutions.
Also it looks a bit odd where the white contents box is offset from the navigation, even more so on a larger screen. The navigation to me also looks like it should have some kind of rollover effect to it to make everything slightly less static.
I prefer to see screen shots in a portfolio. I clicked on the first link and it took ages to open and doesn't look like a site, I think even if you are putting on ideas rather than complete sites they should look like a finished site and I'd have them opening in a new browser window as that's what is most common and people could close the window thinking this is the case and then you've lost them.
Lastly, the LiveInternet button you have at the bottom looks really, really out of place!
Good start

You've got some big problems here with cross browser compatibility. Take a look at this in Opera or Mozilla. The contact button is pushed down to the next line and the blue box that was next to it is pushed down and seems to be centered within the grey area there.
In IE this looks really nice. I like the graphic effects and the navbar looks really good. It would be nice to see some mouseovers on the buttons there though - maybe just go to a lighter colour taken from the header graphic.
You've done a good job here of using blue without getting boring, but I think your shades are a little off. The background colour looks a little less saturated than the header graphic there and it doesn't seem to coordinate as well as it could. Actually, it might be a good idea to try grey in the background instead of blue.
I agree with Julia about the portfolio section. Why not give those sample layouts some sort of a catchy title and label them as templates? That would look a lot more professional. Oh, and you might want to look up something called lorem ipsum instead of "dummy text". It's what all the pros use for filler text and it really does look a lot better.
Anyway, all of your work here looks really good! Good luck in finding work!

thank you for feedback, i'm really glad for the input. I'm almost done with my next version of the portfolio, because I realized that my main site doesn't have to be heavy. cross browser issue - yeah, it looks bad in Mozzila. Do you think most people use IE?
thanks again for feedback.

A lot of people use IE but more and more will be using others. Over here Netscape 7 is shipped with AOL & many other ISP connection packages so that will become more widely used.

Yes the majority of the internet does use IE. But mozilla and mozilla firebird are gaining popularity more and more everyday. A tip to make sure your site would look good is to make sure all the html is validated. Use http://validator.w3.org/ to test the the site and have it find the errors. Play around with things to get it how you want.

Your site does not work well with my browser (OPERA).
But of what I can see, the color combination looks nice.

Ok, i didn't read what the other people said, so they might have already said this. I would suggest making your header smaller and setting the top margin to 0 so that it is at the top of the page instead of having that empty blue space.
