I would like for you guys and gals to take a look at a new idea that I have for my site. I am not 100% set on the colors/graphics and may just ditch the whole thing. Haven't decided yet. That is where you all come in. Do you like it better than the old one?

TEST PAGE

Oh, you can see the old site via the link in my sig or from any of the links on this test page.

Thanks

It looks pretty good. The logo is probably the best. The thing that I don't like is how the white table seems to fade into the red. It seems like a raised effect by using a wider black border may help achieve that effect. Something to try. I think also that there are possibly too many links in a small amount of space. I would get rid of the bottom navbar.

I think I like this one better. The old one was nice too, but I think this one goes better with the "Virtual Graphiti" name. "Graphiti" has kind of a rough feel to it which is coming through in this design. I also feel that the colours here are much stronger and more interesting. You might even want to use that lighter orange a little more in ther design.

One thing about the navigation - you might want to change the colour or stlyle on those - I'm suspecting that some newbie types my have difficulty identifying that as a navbar. And, of course, potential-clients tend to be rather newbie-ish. I did something similar on one of my sites and got some complaints from users.

Mairving you were right about the border. Changed to to 3px.

Megan, I changed the link colors. What do you think now? These are sorta hard colors to decide on for the links. If they aren't good, I am open for suggestions.

I will work on adding some color...maybe a smaller graphic at the bottom with the grungy look also.??

You may play around a little more. Maybe make a separate table for the logo with white edges to see how that would look. I am not sure if I like the top border above the logo black. But I can't tell for sure. You should also know that the border attribute in CSS no workie in NS 4.78.

They're still showing up black in Opera for some reason. (looks good in IE though). Another graphic at the bottom would look good I think.

oooh, I dunno...

The new layout looks ok I guess but I really like your current site. If I had to pick between the two, I'd stay with the old one, which iirc - is fairly new itself

I'm with Taff, I prefer the old one too. this one loks good, just not my cup of tea ole chapette Smiling - so I guess my vote is void lol

If you do decide to use this new one, you may want to do the side navigation section in one table cell (not seperate tables) as it has some alignment issues in NS4.7

I really like the graphic (well done). But I prefer the old color scheme. Maybe you could integrate this new header into the old site?

But, I'm not saying that I dont like the new one. I do like it, stick with it Smiling

I prefer the old one as it has definite sections for logo, navigation and content and I prefer the colours. My husband agrees with me as well as he was stood by my desk while I was looking Smiling

Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....
